WECK 743 Mold Jar (Weck 743)

I love these jars so much! I mostly use them for my sourdough starter, but occasionally use them for other things as well. I love that you can choose to use the seal, or not. I seal the lids down for leftovers, but place the glass lid loosely on the jar for my starter. The best part about them for starter, is that the sides have no curve, so it’s very easy to scrape the inside of the jar, keeping them as clean as possible, and the mouth of the jar is wide, so it’s easy to feed your starter. These jars are so worth the price!

If someone can get excited about jars, it’s definitely me — and I absolutely love these! They’re simple, beautiful, and feel much nicer than regular storage jars. The glass is sturdy, the shape is classic, and the lids fit well. I originally got them for sourdough starter, but honestly they’re so pretty I could see using them for all kinds of things in the kitchen. Functional, great quality, and somehow even make basic kitchen storage look cute. Absolutely love them.

Very versatile. I am trying to stop using plastic for storage for many reasons - i still use for freezer but want to use glass as much as possible. These are a great size for many things. I have had some for a long time and am glad to get them here now. I also just found the carafe style Weck - wish I'd found that first but these are good for many things also. I like to keep cucumber, lemon, strawberry water in the carafe style, and almond milk. I think the glass keeps liquids colder. And I like the glass tops/metal clips. Much easier to use. I like the Weck design and will continue to order.

These sturdy jars are perfect for maintaining sourdough starter. Size is great for growing starter to bake several loaves. It’s easy to remove starter and jars are easy to clean.

I love these!!! They’re so big and fit so much. Perfect for sourdough or a fun drink. I get tons of compliments on them, they’re perfect and so cute! The glass is pretty thick, i would say you can’t stack multiple of them. Can be airtight if you seal it correctly.

I didn’t expect to love this as much as I do, but it’s quickly become one of my favorite baking tools. I love these jars for sourdough starters! They are the perfect size and dishwasher safe! I love the way the look and their versatility! I also love the way the lid can just be set on top (with starter inside) and I didn’t even need the clips!

Now I see what all of the buzz is about with these jars when making sourdough starter. I recently took up the hobby of sourdough baking. For whatever reason I was having the worst time getting my sourdough starter to work. I purchased a couple different types of sourdough starter jars, but could just not get my sourdough to take off. After adjusting many different variables, including flour, water, temperature, and just about everything else, I finally broke down and ponied up the cash for these Weck jars that seemed to be on every sourdough reel and video that I watched. Magically, my sourdough actually started doing what it was supposed to. In fact, my sourdough starter activity is crazy good. With that said, I’m sure these jars are not imbued with some sort of magic. However, I think what they ended up bringing to the formula was that they helped maintain consistent moisture and temperature inside the jar for good fermentation of my starter. Now, could I use different jars to get the same type of result? Sure. But now that I have a winning formula, there’s no reason to look any further. These jars do exactly what I need them to do. They’re high-quality and attractive. If you’re planning on dabbling in sourdough, these jars are a great investment to get you going.

Beautiful jars but received one of them smashed to smithereens and the other was fine.

Poor manufacturing quality, multiple long cracks and bubbles in glass, asymmetrical off-centred bottom

I bought these jars in February. One of them is broken already while I was discarding my sourdough starter with a spatula. Not happy at all as I thought they would last longer than that given the price of them.
