IT DOES NOT COOL THE AREA ...THAT THEY ARE CLAIMING IT DOES!!!!.....IT IS A FAN BLOWER!!!!...THAT'S ALL....WASTE OF MONEY.....NOT SO COOL

I purchased this item to add cooling to my Den - 10'x12', where I play video games. The game machines and TV put off a lot of heat, raising the internal temp of the room to 82 degrees while the rest of the house is cooled by central air and easily maintains a constant 78.This cooler, did not drop the temperature even one degree. I had it running for hours and although the air coming out of it was cool, it just make my room more wet feeling. I loved swamp coolers when I was younger, but this one only has ONE cooling element (a small 10x20 paper filter to pull the water through)...which is apparently inadequate for MY needs. I am tempted to get a larger model rated with excess capacity for my room...but think I'll just call in an A/C guy to add another duct to the room instead.

We don't have AC in our apartment, because in Seattle you supposedly don't "need" it. Summer days here tend to be in the low 80's which is a beautiful temp outside, but when it gets over 80 inside, it's hot as ***!So I got this evaporative cooler (aka swamp cooler) in hopes it would help cool things down. I got it in the Warehouse Deals section, and I got a super good deal on it. Today's our first 80+ day, so I thought I would drag it out and give it a test. Basically this is like a super fan, there is a tank for water, and it does give off cooler air than a fan does. Not as cool as an AC, but it definitely cools better than just a fan, which is just blowing hot air around.The only downside to this item is that it is very loud. Both the fan and the water components make noise. I have it sitting in the living room near the TV, and it would be pretty difficult to watch TV with it on without blasting the sound. I actually did break down and purchase a real portable AC as well, so my long term plans for this item are to keep it in the back of the apartment just to keep air flowing and help cool off the part of the apartment that is not close to the AC. When I set it up back there, the noise is not as much of an issue. I wouldn't want to sleep with this running due to the noise.For the price I paid for it, which was under $50 in the Warehouse Deals section, I am happy with it. For the regular Amazon price, which today is listed as 179.99, I would not purchase it. If you are going to spend close to $200, just get a window AC. This does not cool air as well as an AC would.

This product works good n it's not that loud n it doesn't leak water. cools off my bedroom i even move it to the living room just for a lil comfort cause it's a bigger area (works better n a small area) for the price i would recommend it.

i love these fans. i own a total of 3(different styles). i like the fact you can put ice cubes in it to make the air colder.

I bought two of them, one had a leak and one spit out water, definitely not worth the price,Amazon have me a full refund

I am somewhat disappointed with this product purchase. I was hoping for a portable AC unit, that is what it was listed under in Amazon. When receiving the item and opening it up on the box it says quite clearly this is not an AC, bummer!!!I went to sleep one night heard a dripping, leaking sound in the unit and low and behold there was water on the floor, 3 am I am wiping up water off of my bedroom floor, the plug was very tightly place inside, so I don't know where the water was coming from I have not used it since and that has been a week ago.
