APB Reloaded - PC

I fell in love with this game during OB, and have been playing ever since, the game has its issues, and it has a very small dev team but, just play it to like R20 and you will be hooked. Be careful this game is very punishing to new players, you get opp'd against people of all threat levels (Trainee, green, bronze, silver, and gold) The devs have stated in the past they do this to determine how good a player you are.The tutorial Introducing you too this game is nearly non-existant and near worthless, alot of people think this game is FILLED with hackers, being as that is what helped nail the coffin shut for RTW, and they do exist in the game but being outplayed is more common than hackers are, and being outplayed leads to "hackusations" by alot of the playerbase. In my 600+hrs of gameplay i have seen a total of 5 hackers, and they were so obvious that shortly after i opp'd them they dissappeared from the server never to return lol.Please give the game a fair shake before runnin away in rage, this is not your average TPS, elite call of duty players walk into APB ready to destroy, and get spanked like a noob, dont expect to come here and pwn everyone, come in and expect to have fun and you will, dont have a win all mindset and you will have alot of fun.The ability to make your player unique is what makes this game alot of fun too, you arent some player standing next to 3 other mirrors of you, like other games. The range of distinction is awesome, and some stay around just for that and making tons of APB$ selling there awesome outfits.Dont let others tell you that Pay2win exists in this game because it doesnt, the stock star 556 you get when you start, is used by a ton of the top players still, the star and great tactics, can own any other gun paid or not in the game.In short just remember this game will punish you for being new unlike any other game, but the game is constantly evolving and getting better with every new content release. (currently on build 1.9 new breed part 2 as of 9/7/12)

Actually, my 20 year old son bought this and disc 1 wouldn't load past 7%! He was so disappointed! He wanted to exchange the game and he spent days trying to figure out how, but Amazon ONLY does refunds and the seller doesn't have anymore on their website. Their guarantee says they buff out all their discs and he was willing to send this 3 disc set back for rebuffing, but apparently there is no mechanism to do that either. So much for all their 'guarantees'!

The game itself is free. This is only to get a couple weapons, a car, and premium (bonus experience and money). The game itself is fun but it's frustrating if you get a high rating as the free status of the game invites too many cheaters. The car you sucks in comparison to others you can unlock in the game. And the guys you can probably buy them in the cash shop in game and save a few bucks, as well as try it first. You can customize everything which is a big plus for me but I found that it's not as fun to play unless you got friends or a group with similar/compatible game play style as you. The games uses a lot of computer power so if you don't have a gaming system you might not be able to play to.

The only thing in the package I didn't mind was the premium. Everything else was just easily replaceable. Great guns for beginners (except that pistol, I hate that pistol) but for a vet player, put the 10 bucks towards a gun you'll enjoy.I got the shotgun, don't get the shotgun. DON'T GET THE SHOTGUN. Shotgun in that game is flawed with registration errors. If you do get the shotgun make sure it's got cooling jacket 3.The car is slow. I would've preferred it didn't have armored plating 3 but it's a nice starter car.

Note: I will be using APB and MMO jargon.Edited to add: The ACT 44 "Last Stand" you get with the code now has Mobility Sling rather than Reflex Sight III, which makes more sense, but it's just an ACT 44 really. The handling of the Cisco is still as bad as ever. And any reservations I had about the Whisper RT1 I totally take back. It's the best whisper in the game. (Use a PMG though, seriously.) I also no longer consider the Broadwing the "best" car in the game, but the most versitile. The best car in the game is the Mikro, imo. And either faction can get it with 2000 Joker Points (earned in game) and in game money at the Joker shop in Social district.I also claim that the game is not Pay2Win...well, the two shot rocket launcher and the Nano kind of challenge that a little, but both can only be gotten in random Joker boxes. (Or, recently, random dailies will get you a Nano.)Old review follows:Before you activate this, if the promo where you get the bonus primary weapon is still going on, do the 99 G1 point rentals of the various weapons you can get. I'm not totally dissatisfied with the Whisper I got, but I still tend to use my JG for short range. I am glad I didn't pick up the Scout, as I prefer the higher damage of a real sniper rifle, the Colby shotgun would have been preferable.About that ACT 44 with the Reflex Sight III. An ACT is a long range, nearly sniper, pistol. Gimping the range by handicapping marksman mode and improving the reticule while moving seems a horrible idea, but I use my purple* ACT 44 about as much as I do my Joker or FBW. It's a good gun but the mods make it more a jack-of-all rather than a specialty weapon. And since there is currently no option to slot secondary weapons in the game, it's not like you could make one.*(color coded weapon icon others can see when they look at your profile. Purple = Retail box. Gold = Loyalty reward. White = normal or Armas)I don't like the car that comes with this. I don't drive the Cisco well and the bulletproofing mod makes the car slow. Sad being passed by a taxi. (I feel that the Taxi/Broadwing is the best car in the game, but so boring.)This game can be considered a PvP only GTA. Learning the map and which weapons are best are key to your performance, and I for one feel the matchmaking system in the game is just fine, though I'd prefer that the Trainee threat level totally replace green.The game is free2play and you should download it and try it out. Fortunately, it isn't a pay2win game, and the starter rifle you get is quite good, though the pistol is crap. (Edited to add: This is outdated, the FBW is a great gun. The old starter pistol was the snubby.) Weapons are unlocked via contacts and then rented for 10 days at a time. Weapons you pay with real money in the shop aren't needed, but the equipment and mods to make the shotgun you can get there (or with this box in the special intro period) would take hundreds of hours of play to unlock all the parts, and the ACT 44 Golden simply can't be made in-game, but the RSA is better than it, IMO. I've bought lifetime scoped NTEC with real cash. Other than that I pay for premium (so not F2P for me, :D) to get the better in-game cash rewards as I tend to keep a weapon or two from each class and have five modded up cars.I've logged a little under 500 hours, but have rerolled a few times.
