Simple to install and great against birds.
I tried plastic bird spikes in my battle against persistent swallows in our carport ceiling, but they loved to build their darned nests in them instead! However, these wire spikes did the trick. No more swallows to drop debris on our vehicles, at last!

Works
I was having problems with birds nesting on top of my outdoor fan and in planting pots. Tried plastic snakes and sticks and the birds outsmarted me every time. I selected this item because it was well priced and turned out to be perfect. Assembly required but the nice part is that the plastic mounting can be broken into various lengths. Broke it into short lengths and attached to fan with silicone caulk adhesive and never had another problem. Also added a few sections to each planter, held in place by a long nail.

Works great !
Had all our gutters full of nests and now nothing after I cleaned them out. I put a bead of silicone down the middle to hold them in so they could not move and the water would run around them. Highly recommend.

Does not work for eagles
The bald eagles in my home port love to sit on my mast and often leave a big mess. I installed these up there in hopes of dissuading them, but they laughed and were back within an hour of installing them. Longer tines seem to be needed. The eagle's long legs allow them to perch on them. Kind of fun snapping in all the wires though.

These are great!
I had some very persistent birds that wanted to nest under my covered porch. I kept taking their nest starts down, but they kept coming back. I bought these spikes and put them on the posts the birds were wanting to nest on and haven't seen them since. I glued mine down since I wasn't sure what the posts are made of and they are staying just fine.
