HP Q2612A with HP 1012 a great combination
Updated 11/29/2008: I've been using an HP 1012 laser printer with WinXP Pro for about 4 years. I'm getting 2,100 to 2,300 sheets per HP Q2612A (12A) cartridge and have been very pleased with the quality, toner, print, and the fact I've had NO issues with the toner, or the printer (other than one little issue that was my fault - read on for more). I've used about 8 cartridge's or so over this 4 year period. I only use OEM (real HP branded) 12A's, as I don't want to mess with a good thing. The fusser (sp?) is built into the cartridge - so if you did get a little spec of something on the fusser, the next time you put a new cartridge in, you are back to clean again -- I know because I made a mistake once and fed a sheet with some wet white-out through the printer, and got a spec on the fusser that showed up on all pages. My error. Fortunately, the cartridge was just about empty, and when I put the next one in, it was clean again.I've like this HP solution so much, that I've also helped two other people purchase these or similar HP models. Both of them also use the Q2612A (12A) Print Cartridge and they have never had a problem either.Yes, these toner cartridges feel a bit expensive, but they all are. I keep an eye on all the popular and respectable web store, and when a good deal comes along, I buy ahead. You don't need to be spending seventy dollars on these cartridges! They can be found for sixty and fifty some times.

I was skeptical, but it worked
I was very skeptical about a generic cartridge, but the prospect of not having to pay over $70 and getting more prints was too enticing.I installed the first toner cartridge and it has now worked for over 100 prints. The cartridge is lighter and definitely made of cheaper material, and I would be willing to guess that it has less, or lower quality, toner, but the printouts look good.Even if one or more of the toner cartridges in this package fail, I will almost definitely get more total prints out of the 2-3 that do work than out of a single expensive HP toner cartridge. This is definitely the best choice for dollar/print ratio.

Rejuvination for my old printer!
I bought an HP Laserjet 1012 printer over 20 years ago. This is the second time I have bought a toner cartridge, and after installing it the printer is printing like new again. What can I say? Once you go laser, you don't go back. This toner cartridge is the real deal.

Databazaar does it again! Kudos!!
I want to tell a story about this excellent company. I have never had a hand extended to me like this company did for me this past summer. I thought I had an empty toner cartridge so I ordered a generic cart from Databazaar in Miami. The printer was still telling me there was a toner cartridge problem. I ordered a second cartridge just to see if it was the refilled cart or my printer. After the second cart did not work I began my investigation. Scouring over the printer manual and working with Brother and their support department, there was no answer to the problem I had. Brother support then recommended me to take the printer to a local authorized repair center to check out. I thought, oh boy, I'll get a huge charge just for checking this thing out and then I would have been better off spending that money toward a new printer. I thought, what the heck. I called the local repair shop and they offer a free printer check. Wow! Okay, I'm on my way down. Turns out this company, Computer Corner here in Tampa, Florida has been around since the days of computer bulletin boards. I knew the owner, Gary, through the message bases back then. Okay, I leave the printer off for a couple of days as the tech is out of town. I get a call a few days later and the person was telling me that the printer is not economical to repair. I have heard those words before so I knew what I had to do. I drove down and picked up the broken printer and thanked the person at the counter for their service and headed home. I decided to try my luck and I emailed Databazaar when I got home and asked if I could return the unused but open package toner cartridges after explaining my printer is beyond repair. I was astounded that the owner replied back and said that wouldn't be a problem. I got a full credit refund back on my credit card and am happy to say that I have since done business with Databazaar with their fast shipping. Why go anywhere else now for my printer supplies, right? Just tell 'em that Paul in Tampa referred you.
