Misleading title, all fab, little math
The title is misleading, it means creative ways to fabricate a bicycle. There is very little useful information If you are building anything that requires more performance than a beach cruiser. If you're looking for a book on geometry and the mathmatics behind a bikes performance then this is not the book. There is a small section on geometry and the rest of the book is about very simple, diy ways to build a basic bike. But most of the book focused on hand tool and cheap ways to do things such as oxy-acetaling brazing and buying the lugs and tubes for the frame. I would say this book is more like "how to custom tailor a bike frame" because they don't really "make" anything, it's more so assembling premade pieces. It's a fine book of you just want to build a cruiser bike for fun, but other than that it's pretty useless if you ave any fabrication background.

I would recommend adding additional design books with it

The Ultimate Frame Design and Build Guide!
This is a FABULOUS manual that will enable you to build, from the ground up, a perfect bicycle frame that fits you, and is designed for your body proportions. There are a large number of charts and graphs, dealing with all the different angles rrequired to come up with a bicycle frame and fork combination that is the ultimate in stability, maneuverability, and style for what YOU want. Much of the information here has been compiled and published for the first time, and is not available anywhere else. Ed Foster has been building bikes for years, ranging from appocolyptic survival bikes, to customer racers, to duplicates of bicycles from the 1890's. His work has been widely displayed and collected, and even a superficial examination of one of his bikes shows his engineering skill and craftsmanship. He was the founder of "La Suprema" handcrafted bikes in Tucson, Arizona.

A great guide for anyone looking to start frame building. Very helpful in explaining the basics of design and equipment requirements.

Very poor print, no paper number, looks like a quick word document. for a book that aims to tell you how to be creative it is absolutely shameful.

I had to buy this book on chance; there was little information i could make a decision upon. But, its way better than i expected. Detail, information...its got it all, along with the maths, the science and easy tips, tricks and explained in no nonsense plain language. If you want the recipe for making your own bike, be that a racer, mountain bike, city or beach cruiser, this book tells you how. Im not saying anyone can do it, but someone determined , can get their hands dirty, and know the business end of most tools? Yep, i think they could pull it off. This book is for the 'project' or for someone thinking of setting up a side hussle to become a possible business, you aint doing it without this book.

Great read!

Not read the book yet but a quick scan and all the images are poor quality. Blurry and only black and white. Not helpful in a technical book where an image should speak a thousand words. Book cover is thin and the paper poor quality.
