The Four Elements of the Wise: Working with the Magickal Powers of Earth, Air, Water, Fire Review: A deep dive into a deceptively simple topic - _The Four Elements of the Wise_ presents layers upon layers upon layers of knowledge concerning the elements in the Western magical tradition generally and the author's own practice specifically. My previous experience with elemental forces comes from Tibetan Bon Buddhism, and much here was new to me, but Mr. Dominguez's explanations are lucid and engaging. He is especially skilled at making helpful analogies but also reminding the reader that they _are_ analogies, the map and not the territory. At the same time, he never oversimplifies or dilutes the information presented. I especially appreciated his gentle reminders that 1) there is no one "right" set of associations, directions, etc. for the elements, and yet 2) coherence matters, and it's best to work consistently within a single tradition (or set of compatible traditions) and not to force or invent connections between fundamentally different systems. There's a lot in this book that I recognize I'm not ready for - one of its great strengths is that it will reward continued study and re-reading over the long haul. It also contains some concepts that I will probably never use, which is not a bad thing. Mr. Dominguez provides a range of tools and concepts, from the simple to the dizzyingly complex, and it's up to the reader to decide which best suit the occasion, purpose, and their own skill set and ritual style. Overall, I can imagine no better or wiser guide to working with the elements than this book. Review: Incredible and deep writing - pace yourself - This incredible author writes deeply on his subject. You can scan the book and get some basic information about this topic; however, it is best to read in sections and give yourself time to absorb what you read and how it may or may not relate to your life and your spiritual practice. I highly recommend this book - It is FANTASTIC!

Inspiring both for beginners and adept practitioners
This well-written book offers fresh insight into certain areas of elemental magick that are not normally covered in other books. I particularly appreciated the dive into the sub-elements and the platonic solids, as these sections of the discussion caused me to consider aspects of my relationships with the elements that I had not previously explored. I highly recommend this intelligently written work.

An essential addition to any magical / Pagan library
Ivo Dominguez Jr. is one of the best contemporary magical authors. His ability to convey complex theory in ways that are understandable is masterful. Most important, though, is that his work is deeply practical. More than anyone else, Ivo's work has enriched my actual practice. Since I began practicing decades ago I have always worked with the elements. I have read a ton of materials over the years, and I can attest that I still learned from this text. I wish it had been available when I was coming up. I cannot recommend this book highly enough.

Ideas and advices, kinda scarce magical practices
It's a good book, full of meditations, ideas and hints. Some things, though need few more detailed explanations. Like for ex. step by step explanation how to build "cone of power" inside witches pyramid and not just hints about it. Otherwise, interesting book, well done by publisher also.

Renewing our Connections and Deepening our Understanding
In this book Ivo Dominguez Jr. explores the four elements on many levels. This book will benefit all practitioners of magick as it explores each element’s lore, uses and applications in ritual, as well as use in personal practice in the physical realm and on many planes of being. Ivo Dominguez Jr. also presents meditations on the four elements and explains their significance, layers of connections, and methods of engagement in a manner that deepened my understanding and renewed my connection to their energies.

An in-depth and fresh look at the elements.
The author takes a familiar subject, and expands it into more depth than nearly any other source out there. He discusses not only the four classical elements, but the three Alchemical elements as well. Going beyond even these standard frames of reference, he discusses the fifth element in detail I've never seen before. If you are interested in elemental work, this is a must-have!

This is a unique and extraodinary book. It not an armchair book. I think one needs to read it a few times ... it contains alot of information about the elements that I have not heard before.

I've been reading and listening to books about the Craft for a decade now. Some of them contain nuggets of gold, some are just fluff, and some touch the soul and the heart and the mind all at once. Ivo's book about the four elements is absolutely great. (I tried to describe it to a friend of mine; it's the Scott Cunningham kind heartfelt practicality, with the Itzhak Bentov scaffolding of complex ideas into understandable concepts). Highly recommended, to both new and seasoned practitioners.
