OK, this lamp may not be the brightest in the Daylight Company's product list, but it is definitely the most versatile. The three light modes, daylight, warm and cool - and their different brightness levels - will provide ample light for all but the most demanding of tasks, and the *very* flexible neck makes it really easy to direct the light to exactly where you need it. Not only that, but with the three mounting methods - clamp, table or floor - you have a wealth of options for placement. I also have the Daylight Company's Slimline 3 Table Lamp, and while it does give a brighter light, it's a lot less easy to mount and direct that light than it is with this one. So, if you want real flexibility in placing and directing your light, I'd recommend you get this model, the Multiplex - 3-in-1 Lamp, which is also *much* cheaper than the Slimline 3.Oh, I almost forgot to mention another very handy feature if, like me, you're in the habit of reading in bed and dozing off in the process. By pressing the on/off switch for 2 seconds, this lamp will automatically switch itself off after an hour, so no more wasted electricity. But it's too useful a light to *only* use for bedtime reading, so I've made use of the multiple mounting options to set up each in a different place, and simply carry the stem and power plug to each when I need it; it's not heavy at all. For the price, you can't get a better option!

I bought two of these to set up either side of an easel as a temporary painting hack while I couldn't make use of natural light. For the price, I wasn't expecting much, though I know the Daylight company has a fairly solid rep for these kinds of lights. But these are solidly made, with a heavy standing base and a solid table attachment that is much better than my other swedish equivalent! The various temps of lighting are a nice touch, but having both on the full daylight setting made for a great painting light with no cast shadows. One did the job too, but for painting at a full standing easel, 2 was awesome, and having the bendable necks on the section with the lamp meant I could focus the light where it was needed most.They feel like premium products. Would recommend.

I have been happy with this lamp since the minute I took it out of the box. Very easy to assemble. If you do any kind of close-up work like reading physical books, knitting, embroidery, etc., it's unmatched by any lamp on the market. I've used it at full height, table height, and as a clamp-on to the worktable, and I'm not sure what I would have done without that versatility. The daylight setting is essential. The varying brightness is crucial. But mostly the variable positioning of the light arm itself has made a huge difference in making my work so much easier.

I bought this both as a cosy lounge reading light and to provide bright daylight whilst watercolour painting. Works perfectly for both. There are 3 different light temperatures ( cool white, warm white, daylight) and several brightness choices. Easy to assemble and I think it looks good too. MUCH cheaper than the brand that advertises in the Sunday papers….

I wanted a pedestal lamp to add light over my table / back of my chair for seeing letters, working on fiddly things. The plan was to say "Alexa, turn on light" and bingo, I would be able to see the words on the page or the back of the phone. No. You can do that but the light stays off. You have to get up and go around to the light and turn it back on with the switch, it stays dark when you simply restore power.

This was purchased as a present and the precipitant was extremely pleased with it. She found it easy to assemble, found that the controls for adjusting the light brilliant. When used with the floor stand it is very sturdy but a bit wobbly as a desk lamp

Great focus light for the money, easy to assemble, flexible neck for positioning, 3 different colour lights (daylight, white & yellow) built in dimmer, comes with stand and desk clamp, lasting well. Brilliant product!
