Djent worthy.
I know these are meant for 7-stringed guitars but I bought these and put the three thickest strings on to replace my 13 gauges. I cannot tune past Drop B and I LOVE it... I fear if I do I'll break them.. but the guitar I put them on is not meant for those pussy tunes. If you wanna be a Djentlemen, these strings are for you. I play these regularly in Drop A or A# and have had it tuned to Drop E for the last week. Anyways, in all seriousness. These strings have NOT lost their clarity and tone, they're still bright and shiny and play like Heaven. My fingers slide all around on them and seriously improves my speed... no joke.

Well designed - Sound good, last long. Relatively cheap too.
I really like the gauges they chose for this set. Compared to Regular Ernie Ball and D'Addario sets, all the wound strings are slightly thicker while leaving the plain strings the same, feels good and well balanced. Works great for Standard and Drop A. Not sure about going any lower, it might work, depending on your guitar's scale length. They're supposed to have a heavier core wire (hence the name), but I don't notice much if any difference feel-wise, which is a plus. They sound a little strange brand new, dull, almost plastic sounding but once they settle in they have a nice tone - bright, but slightly warmer than say D'Addario. Not muddy at all though. The tone lasts a long time too! Longer than D'Addario & Ernie Ball. I recommend this set. Can't really beat it at this price point.

4.5 stars, really. Great strings, with one complaint.
I give these strings 4.5 stars - they're excellent, with one flaw. First, the pros - fantastic sound if metal is your thing. I use these only on the Schecter that I use to play metal/hard rock. I tune to a modified drop A# and the lowest strings have great tension without being excessively tight. However, that may differ depending on what scale length your guitar has. For the sake of context, it is worth noting that I was previously using Ernie Ball Cobalts before switching to these. I couldn't keep the high-output sound of the Cobalts under control - entirely too noisy, drove my whole setup way too hot, and the result was a gnarly, grindy sound that behaved like a demon-possessed anarchist and sounded bad no matter how I EQ'ed my setup. That, and they got really grimy after a week if you didn't meticulously wipe your strings down after playing. The Heavy Cores were a wonderful breath of fresh air after years struggling with the Cobalts. They have a much smoother feel and the sound is much easier to keep under control - think of a lion with a royal growl befitting of the king of the jungle, and enough bite to crush any challengers to his throne. A long-winded analogy, yes, but that's how I think of them. Now to my gripe about the Heavy Cores. They seem to lose tone & tuning stability sooner than I would like - a couple weeks of moderate playing and I'm changing strings again. I hate restringing more often than I have to, but the sound of a fresh set of these makes it worthwhile. Keep in mind that how often you need new strings depends on how much and how aggressively you play. All in all - if you want smooth strings and killer sound, and don't mind restringing a little more often, these are absolutely worth a test. It also helps that they're not terribly expensive.

My go-to Strings
I've used Heavy Core Dunlop strings for as long as I can remember. Brilliant and cutting tone at LOW tunings. I tune to B-Standard or Drop-A so the 7 string set works on my 6 string. Dunlop's "heaviest" 6 string set is excellent for Drop-C and D-standard.

Better options out there
I liked the price, which I got at a discount. I wasn't expecting a pack of 6. I was excited to put it on my Ibanez 7-string guitar and was disappointed with the sound quality. I thought at first it was the guitar but with putting them on another guitar that I had for a while, it was clear that the string was the reason why it sounded bad. The low-end 7th and 6th string sound undefined and flabby when they are down-tuned which the box says they can. Overall this is a pack of strings and nothing more to write home about besides the subpar sound quality. Stays in tune well and was easy to string up and had no other complaints.

Rispondono benissimo sulle basse, tengono l'accordatura in maniera eccellente e squillano sulle alte.

I love these. They work really great as advertised. Warm tone but clear, hold sustain well, hold tuning stability longer that normal gouges when tuned down. Quite happy.
