Happy Face - 1.5"-2" thick beard
I ordered Heavy Duty Beard Balm and the Leave-in Conditioner (all natural). My beard is nearing two inches right now, so it had a nice poof to it. I began using the Balm/Conditioner a month ago. Overall, these two products work great. You just need to experiment a little with how and when you apply them and determine which product is right for you. As a side note, I generally have dry skin in the winter, therefore my face itched and my beard became brittle and at times a little bit itchy. Application: I prefer the Heavy Duty Balm. I am washing my beard ever 2-3 days and adding the balm daily. I will use a little bit at a time (enough to cover my finger tip) then rub two fingers together until the balm is liquid. Then I apply the balm to individual areas of my beard, to make sure it is evenly disbursed. I do scratch and dig into my beard a little bit prior to application just to separate hairs. This seems to help my face from itching less. Time between uses: I use the balms 1-2 times a day. The Heavy Duty in the morning (after my beard has sufficiently dried after a shower) and the Leave-in Conditioner in the evening or immediately before bed. I may use a little more here and there if my face feels dry. (weather dependent) Vs. The Heavy Duty gives my beard a little bit more structure and is not as oily as the Leave-In Conditioner. Maybe I am using too much of the leave-in, but from different approaches to how and when I apply each balm, for all day use, the heavy duty does the trick. The leave in is definitely good on my skin. I hate lotion, so I don't like the feeling it leaves on my hands if I touch it at all through the day. Smell: The smell is there. It is good. If you don't like things that have a smell, then don't use this. If you like smelling good, use this. (the smell has the girlfriend's stamp of approval)

Great product
Great hold and doesn’t have crazy oily feeling. The smell of very pleasant and the hold lasts all day. It also comes out easily with shampoo and conditioner. So far the container has lasted a little over a month and I I use it 5 days a week

Good stuff for adding control
I already have a review for the regular beard balm, so I'll try to not repeat myself. I liked the regular enough to give this a try. It is definitely good stuff, however they are not really the same thing. My initial assumption was that this product was the same as the regular, but it simply had more control. The regular product is really great for conditioning. Another reviewer said it best when they said that they really knew how good the product was when they quit using it. The regular balm gradually conditions so that you hardly notice how much of a difference it makes until you stop using it for a week or so. My point is that after using the heavy duty balm for about a week, I really noticed how much conditioning the regular balm does. This product does not seem to soften the beard much at all. Maybe it does, but compared with the regular product it does very little. I still like the heavy duty stuff quite a bit. As in most things in life it is a tradeoff. You trade some conditioning for additional control. So now I use it when it is important to me to appear more neat or clean cut. You can shape your beard significantly better with the heavy duty balm. It is kind of fun to use because of it. I don't know if it is stiff enough for a handlebar mustache, etc., but you can definitely add some shape and tame a lot of those strays with it. The two products complement each other very well, but they are not interchangeable. Finally, this product does not have the licorice smell that the regular balm has. I don't like licorice, but I did enjoy the scent of it in the regular balm. I only mention it because many people said that it was strong, though I have never found it so. If that is/was a concern, then you don't have to worry about it with the heavy duty balm.

Heavy Duty vs Regular Leave-In
Normally I use the regular leave-in conditioner, but decided to try the Heavy Duty this time around... It seems there are 2 noteworthy differences between the 2 products. First, the Heavy Duty has a small amount of wax giving it a bit of a "beard holding" property. Handling the two, you can feel the difference in viscosity when rubbing it on the hands and eventually onto the bears. It's not super strong, but there is a noticeable difference. Second is the scent. The Heavy Duty is more of a "no scent added" type product. It smells like a mixture of oils and butters, but none of them are overpowering or too forward. It ultimately comes off as a very meh-like smell that doesn't last or linger very long. Short of that both left my beard feeling soft, tangles were easy to comb out, but the Heavy Duty resulted in fewer stray hairs. The smell or lack of smell with the Heavy Duty isn't a big deal because most of the time after about 20minutes I don't notice the smell of the beard product anyway unless I'm actively trying to smell it. Previously I was using the regular leave-in conditioner and adding a light wax after, the Heavy Duty mostly gets rid of that so I think I may just use the Heavy Duty from now on. **The indentation in the image was done by myself, testing the consistency, thickness, and so on. The product arrived perfect and without lumps. IF yours arrived with lumps, simply melt the compound fully back into a liquid, then allow it to cool/solidify again.

using for 8 years
I have been using this product for 8 years. Good control over wiry hairs, aways leaves it soft and a gentle shine.
