Great set for 3/4 construction
Great concept and the bits work great. However, you could do the same thing with a rabbeting bit and a dado blade. In fact I don't use the grooving bit at all. I have a dedicated table saw with a 1/4" dado blade for the frame and then set the tongue bit on the router table with feeder. The flush trim bit is 1/2" shank which I prefer to use in my smaller Bosch Colt router so it's never been out of the box.I read one review stating the tongue didn't go all the way to the bottom of the groove and that is correct. But it's certainly not a flaw. This is by design and is brilliant. This allows for any slight depth variation in the groove as well as debris that could prevent the frame from snugging up. I will say that they should have made the tongue a full 1/4" and the groove 5/16" as this would have made the math much easier than dealing with the 3/16" tongue (it may not be exactly 3/16 but it is shy of 1/4").So if you are building 3/4" plywood cabinets this is a pretty darn good set to own. Makes alignment perfect and once you get the hang of it using a few clamps and some 1" staples behind the faceframe this creates a really solid cabinet. However, I have since switched to 1/2" construction and I use a rabbeting bit to create a 1/4" tongue. I then cut dadoes in my faceframes 1/4" from the edge. Put the plywood sides in with the rabbet on the inside of the cabinet you have a 1/4" scribe stile. Put the dadoe towards the outside you now have a flush finished end panel. This works really well when you are installing a flush bottom or top in a cabinet which I do on all my boxes. It just looks and functions much better.

Great tool to assist in making cabinets
I've been re-doing my kitchen for awhile. The first half of my cabinets I used pocket-hole screws and biscuits to put it all together. I have now started using the Tounge and Groove set and it's so simple and aligns everything perfectly. CMT has a video to demonstrate, so go watch it if you haven't already seen it. The cutters are sharp and cut maple and plywood very cleanly. My last comment is that CMT has spectacular customer service. There was a minor flaw in the first set I received. I was on the fence of whether or not to return the bits because it really wasn't that bad. I contacted CMT via email and asked their opinion and just wanted to make them aware of it... they replied back asking for my address and took immediate action to get me a new set. This is one of the best customer experiences I've ever had with a company. Thanks CMT.

Used for entertainment center
Made an entertainment center with these using Summerfeld's cabinet making method using tongue and groove to attach face frames to cabinet boxes. Used for one project using a combination of 3/4 inch melamine and poplar. They cut well and install in my router table as they should. First time using CMT as I typically use Whiteside, but I am happy with the quality of router bit so far. Using summerfeld's method the tongue and groove pieces can easily be interchanged without changing router setup by placing a small rubber grommet into the router collet prior to putting the bit in. The bits are the exact same heidth where the tongue matches the groove if set on a flat surface. Thus, I can set up the router for one and then switch the bits without having to reset the router when I want a matching tongue or groove (such as a cabinet door front).

Completely useless product!!!
This product is just not acceptable - at all! Fortunately, the Amazon return policy and staff are !!awesome!!. I returned this, bought another (not sure why), and have now started a return for the second unit. The tongue that it cuts is a full millimeter shorter than the groove. Additionally, the blades on the tongue cutter are neither flat, nor square, altho this is minor compared to the short tongue. Finally, also by simple visual inspection, I can see that for both bit sets, the tongue that is cut is thicker than the slot that is cut (in one case by 0.12mm, the other case by 0.32mm) - imagine the fun you might have trying to glue this together! If you decide to buy this, I suggest that you immediately make some test cuts to determine if your unit is acceptable.

good investment
I've been building cabinets for a while and IMO CMT makes the best bites and blades. Keep them clean and sharp, use the right speed and power and they will last forever.
