Allens Scottish Shortbread | 6 Pack Flavor Sampler- 20 oz

I bought these because a box of them were included with an order of tea. I tried them and they are delicious, perfect for a mid-morning treat with a cup of tea. They come in a small decorative box that are nice as a spur-of-the-moment gift.

I received only 1 little package, not 4 as the page claims. Buyer beware. The price would have been great for 4, but it certainly was not for 1.

These cookies are so delicious!!

I’m a huge shortbread lover and will happily choose it over many other types of cookies. So what did I think of these?Flavor: Is very cherry and I like that. As soon as you open one of the packages, the scent of cherry hits and it’s lovely. But it’s lacking that buttery flavor I’ve come to expect from shortbread.Consistency: While it is crumbly, it didn’t have that crispness to it that is a staple in every shortbread I’ve ever eaten.Presentation: This is lovely. I like the smaller boxes, which could go into stockings and gift bags. Or you could treat it like a single serving and toss a box in your bag to take to work/school.Overall: Things I like about it are the gift presentation and that it’s made in small batches. Since the flavor wasn’t what I was expecting, I researched traditional Scottish shortbread and while this might be an homage to it, this isn’t it – neither the consistency nor the flavor match that. However, as a cookie, they are tasty and I would recommend it on that alone.

The Meyer Lemon is my favorite flavor. I've had the assortment pack twice and each time I savor each package to make it last. They are crisp, packed with flavor, and always taste fresh.

I normally enjoy shortbread, but this Allen's Scottish Shortbread Cherry Blossom 3.25 oz 4 Pack is kind of dry and not much taste to it, of either cherry or chocolate. The Shortbread in each box is one big piece of Shortbread, that you have to break into 4 pieces.It arrives in so much packaging, which is kind of wasteful. The 4 individual boxes are cute, and nicely decorated.

My husband received one box of these in the Earl Grey flavor as part of a gift basket a few months ago. Once I tasted them, I was hooked. They are so yummy and the flavors are subtle and very pleasant. They are definitely a little pricey since you only get four pieces in each box, but they are handcrafted and so delicious that I sprung for the $40 price tag. Try them, you won’t be disappointed!!
