I was excited to purchase a printer that could print LARGE prints for my small business. After 2 months of using this printer, I had to find a company that sold just the replacement chips. My cartridges would be halfway full of ink but printer would throw a code saying ink was out. Now after using this printer for less than 6 months, it will not read any new chips (on brand new cartridges even). When I purchased it on July 16th for under $200, I thought it was a great deal. Now I know they were trying to get rid of their junk printers!!

I hate this printer! I had an HP Printer for years that finally died. I loved that HP offered the auto-reorder replacement ink so I never ran out of ink. This Epson has been nothing but frustrating! I bought it because of its large format function and the high reviews it had. Here’s what I don’t like: 1. It uses ink cartridges too fast and Epson does not offer auto-reorder, a subscription, or even high capacity color ink and you need the color inks to print b&w. Average $75 to replace ink every 2 months (first cartridges that came with the printer were basically small “sample” cartridges. With HP I averaged $15 a month with my subscription and always had ink. 2. The iPad and iPhone wireless functions, remote, and apps do not function smoothly. With the HP, I could do everything I needed without standing at the printer. Not with this Epson. They recommend the remote app but it does not download to my iPad Pro. Why get a wireless printer if I need to stand over it to print? 3. Along with #2, the printer paper selection function is limited from my Apple products. For example selecting landscape or portrait manually. Selecting the correct paper tray. I spent hours wondering why my file (3 page 8.5x11 Word doc) wouldn’t print only to find it wasn’t auto-pulling from the paper tray (cassette) and instead wanted me to put the paper in the top/back paper feed tray. WTH? Shouldn’t it auto print from the paper in its tray? It is possible I could reconfigure the settings to work as I want but I was looking for plug-n-play. My HP was like that. Have barely had this printer 3 months and I’m looking for a new one. What a waste of money. I’ll never buy Epson again. Oh and I need to order ink again. UPDATE: firmware update has rendered the printer useless. In researching the issue I have found hundreds of complaints online about Epson. Buying another printer to replace it now.

I waited more than a week before writing a review. The main reason I bought this printer was for its A3-sized flatbed and document scanning capabilities. Printing was just a bonus, only after starting to use it I realized how much I missed by not having an 13"-wide printer. The quality is impressive, as all Epson products, as I still own a XP-810 running perfectly. Setup was very fast, both scanning and printing are working flawlessly. The only downsize is its massive size, but it makes up for what I'm able to print and scan now. It was an absolute bargain at the $230 price point, but after using it for 2+ weeks, I would still buy at the current price of $330. Will soon be printing 13x19 (33x48cm) photos on canvas, will add some pictures to the review.

I was initially nervous about buying this printer, since the product is brand new, and I can't say anything about reliability yet, but so far it's been a great printer. It has all the features I was looking for, and then some. * I didn't initially plan to buy a 13x19-capable printer, but I didn't find a smaller one that had the features I wanted, so I took a chance. I was most worried about the size, and particularly the need to fit under an over-counter cabinet. It is indeed big, but I was delighted to find that with the cover fully open it just barely fits in my available height of 24-1/2". It is also wide and deep! Plan on a 16x20" desk area. With the back paper tray open, it needs an additional 8" or so of clearance behind, so if it's against a wall figure 24x20". In front, you'll need some room for the output tray, but it extends by itself when needed and is easy to close so it does not need to be open all the time. * I have not printed photos, but I would (informally) rate the text and graphics print quality as excellent. It's also pretty fast, but sometimes takes a little time for the first copy to come out. * I've found the user interface on the angled front panel, as well as the user interface on the PC applications, to be responsive and very easy to use. I use the latter a lot for scanning. This is on Windows 10; I don't know about any other platforms. * It is not silent, but it is fairly quiet. It does not interfere with a phone call in the same small room. A few features I would have liked: (1) Tank-type ink refills. (2) One-pass two-sided scanning and copies. But these are not critical, and I think this is a lot of printer for the price. I really can't think of anything bad to say about it. FYI, I use Epson ink cartridges. I have heard that Epson has made it increasingly difficult to use third-party ink, but I'd rather pay more for the genuine stuff than have to argue with Epson if the printer develops a problem.

Large-format scanner/printer. Accepts paper from the front (main) cassette OR through a back paper tray if you need to print something on different paper. Individual cartridges for ink. Not particularly economical on ink (and the ink of course is expensive) but the cartridges are individual (one each red, yellow, blue and black) and after a couple years of use, I've NEVER had to clean the print heads - printing is always clean and clear. Has had some issues connecting to wifi so have found the cable connection to the computer is best/more reliable. It's hard to find an absolutely perfect printer but this one comes close. I use it mostly for large scanning/printing as it goes up to 11 x 17 inches. One drawback to note is that after only a short time, the document feeder pulls the documents through crookedly, so scans/prints from the document feeder do NOT come out straight (for both single and double-sided scans.) This model is a few years old so there may be more recent Epson models on the market as of 2026.

If you ever saw office space the movie there is a scene where he get mad at his printer and we all relate because printers have a lot of moving parts that can go bad. I have not got or set up a printer for many years. So it was a tad hard but honestly not really. It takes time because it does so much. And I wanted to rush but they truly did everything they could to baby sit us. Google the printer type with the word download. That is what I did and you come to a page you find and down load set up software. I set it up with usb. But also wireless. A tad tricky but only because I was not following directions. It takes some time to find all the packing tape and that’s fine. It’s bigger than most printers. So when I was looking for printers they were 400 or 1-2 thousand. And then this one less than two hundred. In business two hundred is like disposable. At home it’s a nice dinner. So I am impressed for the money what ya get. Personally. The screen is huge. And clear. And you can read it from many angles. It’s animated. Touch. It’s flexible you can tilt it. Better than the old brother with with a thumbnail. I also set it up on my phone. It was not hat hard and printed a photo and it printed color edge to edge and it’s on standard paper. Look nice. And like a photo in a magazine. Can’t wait to print something 13 by 19. We own a venue restaurant and do shows can’t wait to make show posters. I’m going to buy one for home but want to see what printing cost is.

I was hoping for a lot more...maybe too much? It's a good thing I kept my old Epson 7510. When it comes to certain kinds of printing, the 7820 is really good. I've used gloss paper as well as watercolor paper and as long as they are good paper stock, you are going to be happy. Nice color and smooth prints. However, I just printed two prints on regular paper stock...11 x 17. It took me a few minutes to get all the buttons punched correctly on the 7820 to change the size from 8.5 x 11 to the 11 x 17 (or any other size for that matter). Next, I tried to load the paper in the top, bottom and side...any where it might work...finally, it caught on and came out from the bottom loader...came out creased with black ink smudges on it. I tried with the old Epson 7510...no problems...it automatically recognized the paper size and spit it right out...also print quality was good...no splats or messes. I know I am really sounding not very happy with the 7820 and true, I am no expert on using it but I am a graphic designer and use these quite a bit so it's not like once in a while I will try one or the other. I need an easy machine. I am used Epson's for a long time and I like them but am a little disappointed in the ease of use. Also, it eats ink.

Lets start with the good. I needed an 11x17 scanner, that scans both sides, and has a decent size automatic feeder. I bought it, ran 3000 pages through the scanner. It jammed 3 times. All seemed to be false jams,, I could hit reset and the software recovered. This took around 2-3 hours. At one point I got side tracked reading one of the manuals, If you wait too long(or use a lot of memory opening PDFs), the scanning App will fail to save the scans, it will say something about being out of memory on the windows 11 epson smart scan app. This means that it is best to divide the scanning up into sections/chapters. Just use a PDF merger software afterward. I would not Scan in 3000 pages using the + scan more feature. You get an hour in and the software can crash. This is all good, because I bought a Cheap HP printer, and it literally did not have the software capability to scan a stack of papers, flip it over and scan the other side. It literally wanted me to scan 10 pages, scan another 10 pages, and then have me manually drag and drop the second half of scans into the proper orientation... manually... I got around 100 pages in before I decided to buy this printer. As far as a proper automatic feeder, and the software required to drop pages into a feeder, scan, and save without hours of manual BS.... Even with the above issues I had, The workforce was a good buy. Now for the bad. Do you see all the reviews complaining about Ink and it only runs 20 pages lol. So I set this printer up today, I run through the setup, and everything is fine. I go and hit the firmware update button, The firmware update, threw an error on the printer. The error explains that the ink cartridges are the original ones with the machine, that they are for limited testing only, and you have to buy ink. The firmware update also greyed out the previously working ink levels on the display after the update. This means on a 300 dollar purchase, it comes shipped with an error that you are out of ink. I'm pretty sure this is the response to the poor reviews on the device. Their fix, was to add a firmware update, to tell you, you need to spend 60 dollars on vendor locked ink. This makes the True cost of the printer 360 dollars. I've been purchasing printers since the 90s. Ink comes with it, these are not "batteries not included" devices. Quit your BS please. Now On the second note, You should NEVER EVER EVER update the firmware on this device unless windows 12 comes out or something, and the driver will make it work with a new PC or something. You are ALLOWING them to vendor lock the ink cartridges by updating this printer. The Ink cartridge competition will figure out how to bypass the vendor lock. When you type in the Ink name, vendors will say "new updated cartridges guaranteed to work yada yada" Then Epson will figure them out, and update your firmware to lock the machine YOU OWN, with an update that costs you money. Lastly, If you got this far. People are complaining in the comments that "the ink is expensive but I have to run my business" For the love of god, if you are using black and white prints, you should be buying a laser printer and toner cartridges! Inkjets are mainly for color prints. If you are printing stuff in monochrome, 30 bucks prints 1200 pages on a laser printer's toner cartridge. I never planned on using the printer on this device, its a backup for my laser printer, and I needed a good scanner. I'm really irritated this thing comes shipped with a giant orange fault light, that I can't clear, and a nag screen telling me to buy ink. Don't be cheap. I didn't buy cheap. I got cheap. Send the stupid printer with ink.

this blows any printer i have owned out of the water. not a single issue and regularly use it to print of construction drawings. only thing i dont like is that every time you print black and white only, it purges all colors so the nozzles wont dry up and clog. any bad reviews are a result of user error. i cant speak for wireless connections as i never use them due to high instability. every device except my cell phone is hard wired in my place

Boa qualidade de impressão, velocidade, entre outras funcionalidades. O inconveniente é o uso de cartucho, pois torna-se inviável seu uso pelo custo, salvo a adaptação de bulk ink.

I only buy official brand cartridges because I know many manufacturers lock stuff out if it's not from them. Yesterday I applied a firmware, and all of a sudden, all three colour cartridges aren't recognized (a few months old only), and there is no way for me to print, even if I do so in black and white. I troubleshooted the issue as far as I could. Uplugged the printer to reset the memory, remove and replace the cartridges, etc. None of it worked. Looking online, it seems many other users are experiencing similar problems since they applied the latest firmware. I've played nice with them long enough. I'm done. I have no intention to buy another Epson product again and will be using the money that should go for ink towards a new printer from another brand.

Honestly amazing printer for the price, couldn't be happier with the purchase. Keep in mind - in 2026 a LOT of printers are actually scams, $79.99 printers with $150 ink cartridges and that sort of thing. However, after trying out the Epson EcoTank for a couple of years, this brand has won me back. The cartridges cost on this model are justified in my opinion - not super expensive, but VERY high quality pigment-type ink that results in literally print shop quality prints in wide format which is exactly what I needed. Setup was a breeze, printer worked flawlessly within 5 minutes of putting it on my desk, and I'm honestly just blown away by the quality of the product right down to the smallest detail. Epson really hit it out of the ballpark with this one.
