Great for Sourdough!
I use my Weck jars for sourdough! They are a great SIZE for sourdough because they give the dough to rise and NOT OVERFLO on the counter. The glass lid provide protection, WITHOUT choking the much needed AIR out of the jar. You will not regret this purchase!

Too cute
I can't just keep my baby, aka sourdough starter, in just any old jar. I adore this jar. From the cute strawberry emblem to the dainty lid. The clips hold the lid in place for when she's napping in the fridge and the weight of the lid is enough without clips to keep my starter particulate free between feedings.

Great jar for feeding starter
The handsome, sturdy jar's wide mouth and 'tulip' shape allow easy 'feeding' process using a dough whisk (pictured). You can add the flour and water easily through the wide mouth and blend it into the stored starter easily and thoroughly; the whisk goes perfectly around the inside bottom of the tulip form. I don't use the metal clips or gasket for starter storage, just set the glass lid on top; starter gets enough air that way. Just have to be careful not to drop the lid off when moving the jar from refrigerator to counter.

Just bought two more
The jar is perfect for our sourdough starter. We just discarded the clamps and the seal, and let the lid sit on top, but loose. Then, if the starter foams over, it’s no big deal. We bought one of these, loved it, and bought two more: One for a friend, and one for our daughter. The wide mouth on top is large enough that I can dip a 1/2 cup measuring cup into the jar. It’s a bit tight for a full cup.

Perfect for sourdough starter
I was frustrated with using mason jars for my sourdough starter. These jars are perfect and very attractive.

Perfect home for my starter!
Exactly what I was looking for to house my sourdough starter. The neck is wide and makes filling and mixing much easier than the other jars I had tried. I love that it comes with a plastic lid, I use this instead of the glass lid also supplied.
