I have several brands of pillows for CNH.This is the best. It is soft and adjustable, but supports the head. It is larger than most, but I still use it on top of my regular pillow.

After suffering for months with ear pain (a condition called CNH where cartilage is inflamed), I purchased 5 different pillows with a "hole" to get relief by "suspending" sore ear during the night. The only one that worked was PWAH. (Others were too thick or too thin (with no way to adjust fill), smelly, uncomfortable.) The PWAH pillow has allowed my ears to "calm down" considerably, and I am back to a good night's sleep. PWAH is comfortable, doesn't get warm during the night, is easy to care for, sized just right for travel, has easy-to-adjust fill, and was an easy transition from my cushy down pillow (that part surprised me the most). You can try to design your own DIY pillow with a hole (good luck with that!) like I did, but life is short so consider getting the real deal: Pillow With a Hole. I am on a quest to find the perfect pillow that supports my neck, relieves pressure on my ear and gives enough support to get a good night's sleep without waking up with a creaking neck. This one is great for ear pressure. The four stars are for that feature alone. As for the rest, well, first of all, I had a great belly laugh when I took it out of it's tiny bag and unrolled this absolutely paper-thin piece of plastic. I thought there was just a pillow-shaped picture printed on the plastic, but no, it was just vacuum packed and when I cut open the plastic envelope, the pillow emerged like one of those bath toys the kids have that grows when they get them wet. When I tried it out, I thought it wasn't going to work at all for me. It's too flat and provided no neck support. However, when I tried it on top of a regular pillow, it was perfect for giving my ear the open space it needs to let me sleep without waking up to a throbbing ear pain. So, it's a keeper. Still not the champion perfect pillow, but it will do until I find the best pillow ever.

Right out of the box I am concerned that this pillow was pre-owned and re-sold to me. Not what I'd want in a product that rests against my face all night. The "sealed" bag was open and the pillow seems more lumpy than I'd expect. I may end up washing the cover immediately before using - a disappointment because I was eager to use it right away. Will possibly update this review after I decide whether or not to try it.

I bought this pillow because at least twice a week, I'd wake up with severe ear pain. Being a total side sleeper, I thought I'd just have to live with the problem. I had no idea that pillows with holes even existed! This pillow has completely eliminated the issue. I only wish that this was a more standard size pillow. It's smaller. But I just put it on top of a regular pillow and it's perfect. It comes with a zip-off cover for laundering but I wanted a real pillowcase so a friend of mine who sews was able to make a couple for me. I'm so relieved to know I won't be waking up with that terrible ear pain ever again.

I purchased this pillow upon the recommendation of my dermatologist, for an ear sore which would not heal. I have now used it for about three weeks, and the ear is still sore, and scabbed. Therefore, I do not know what effect the pillow was supposed to have---obviously, isn't working for me!

I adore this ear pillow! Maybe it’s related to getting older, but I recently realized that my ears got sore when I slept on my side. Not anymore! This pillow is smooth, cool and comfortable. I use it on top of my regular pillow for a little more neck support, as well as ear pain relief. Hard to go wrong.
