Never Ask Me

Incredible story of a mothers love and all she is willing to do to protect her family. Lots of intrigue, lots of surprises. I enjoy that it takes place in my hime state of Texas. God luck figuring anything out!

You KNOW a book is great when immediately after finishing the audiobook, you grab the real book to go back and read key parts! Our college daughter & I listened to the whole audiobook straight (about 12 hours) while driving from Colorado to Texas (950 miles) and the time flew by- a super engaging story, particularly effective with different voices for the different characters in the audiobook. Especially intriguing if anyone in your life circles has experienced international adoptions...so much truth in this fiction thriller!

I wanted to like this book and it was a decent story until it went off the rails with too many complexities, unbelievable moments, double crosses, and a dumpster fire of an ending.

Engaging and detailed, stays plausible while constantly revealing and changing to keep the reader on the edge of their own investigation and solution.

I've read everything Jeff Abbott has written and this was very disappointing. Felt like someone was saying "get it done now" and he wrapped it up very badly.

Big reader here but have to say this is probably the strangest novel I’ve ever read. I’m not familiar with this author’s work so perhaps I’m missing something. It was a story trying to be a mystery but missed the mark. Not a mystery but a hodgepodge of events with no conclusion and and the strangest ending since the Sopranos.

I usually really like books written by this author Jeff Abbott. However, I found this book very hard to the story being told. I hope his future books are enjoyable to read.

What a story. Have read and loved all of Jeff Abbott’s books. I was so drawn into the story that I stayed up all night to finish.
