Worked great!!!!
These worked great!!! Bought a couple of 10’ kayaks and needed a way to transport them. I can understand some of the frustration from some of the other reviews about assembling them. The dinky tool they provide will give you carpal tunnel if you try to put these together with that. However, I found that using a 13mm deep well socket on an impact drill really does the trick! Only took about 5 minutes each to put them togetherAfter that, I found them fairly easy to attach to the crossbars on my Pathfinder. The kayaks fit really nicely in there. I was pleasantly surprised with the included ratchet straps. The held everything down nice and snug. I did heed warnings though and used a couple extra straps I had just to be on the safe side. I was driving 80 down the freeway with these on top and they didn’t budge!!I will offer a word of caution though, the kayaks can act as a giant wind sail and can provide some steering resistance if you’re traveling on a windy day. Other than that, no complaints about these. If I run into any issues, I’ll update.

They work. Good for the money
Bought these kayak racks for my two 10 foot kayaks. They are on the smaller side to fit my kayaks but we made it work. Definitely worth it for the money. Downside, the straps it comes with work, but you will definitely need to buy ratcheting straps since these ones only tighten as much as you can pull them down. They do make much more wind noise just being on my car then driving without but that is to be expected. They do not lock onto my cross bars either which isn't a deal breaker for me, but if you care about that now you know.

Works well but Rusted bolts
Wasn’t easy to assemble no instructions. Putting them on the roof rack was a pain because the hand bolts had to be twisted a lot. Once on they worked great. No issues until yesterday when I took them off. They have been on my roof for about 6 weeks. The bolts that hold them to the roof rack show rust. Probably be good to spray them before putting it together or getting different rust proof nuts and bolts.

Easy to install
Easy installation! I am by no means a handy person and this was quick and easy. Drove 5 plus hours with it on top of my car with no problems! Great product

Horrible mounting assembly, but good customer service
We bought these mounts and used them on a 7 hour round trip with our 2 kayaks. The mounts kept loosening up and bending over. I thought we might lose them on a bumpy stretch of road! They only have one anchor point, so they rock toward the high side of the J mount where most of the weight leans. We are working on adding more to the mounts that attach to the roof rack, but they are not safe as they are sold. I read the review from the guy who thought only people who don’t have power tools give bad ratings, but I completely disagree. If the seller wants to provide a safe mount, they should include 1 more bottom bracket per mount assembly.Update: the seller sent 4 more brackets, so I’m giving them 5 stars for their help. We will try the rack with these brackets and hope it will be safe.

Almost lost my kayaks
I've returned this product since it was not great from the minute I received it. The bag of hardware arrived with a nice rusty color on the bolts and lining the inside of the bag itself. The assembly process was not great as the machined parts did not necessarily have the best tolereances and did not properly align. Due to the threads on the bolts (Threads were not long enough), it was not possible to firmly tighten the bolts during assembly, This resulted in a wobbly rack, that eventually ended up bending almost allowing my kayak to fall off. The cam straps are cheap, and don't hold in place and easily slip without much effort. Fortunately the day the rack bent, I secured my kayak with an additional rachet strap, because quite simply I did not trust the cam straps, or the kayak holders. I was right in doing so, as the rachet strap was the only thing that prevent my kayak from falling off my car, after the holder bent and allowed my kayak to slip.

Very aturdy
The assembly was easy. Took quit w a bit of time but not too hard. They’re very sturdy… very hard for them to just come off or not be able to carry the kayaks.
