Why was this never the standard?
These things have traditionally been DIY by machinists. They are just so incredibly useful, though. A drawbar wrench to loosen the quill, then you've got a soft-faced hammer right there to tap the tool (and collet if wanted) free. The only quibbles I have with this sample is the wrench is slightly tight (I cleaned up the interior faces a little with a file and it fits nicely now) and the threads holding the brass aren't (add a little loctite if you are tired of screwing it back down)

Perfect addition to the milling machine
Great tool for anyone with a milling machine. Fits the draw bar, clamping bolts/nuts, adjustment bolts and adjusters on my old Bridgeport. The socket side is a bit tight but does fit, no issue there. The brass face is slightly eccentric to the body of hammer, but no worries there either, gets the job done! The price was a little more than I was expecting, but it is a stout tool, plenty of mass to remove most concerns of durability.

what a great tool
Use this on my Enco Bridgeport clone, couldn't be more perfect. Does its duty as a drawbar hammer as well as being perfect for every other head bolt. Handle is nice and grippy knurl even when covered in oil, such as when you are making any repairs that you might be adjusting the head position. Glorious, only thing I wish it came with was a mount to attach it to the machine, but thats a fun and easy project.

Not comparable
This does not work on a Bridgeport draw bar. It is too small. It fits nothing in a Bridgeport. Do not buy

excellent
Using it on my mill to tighten/loosen the draw bar. Having the hammer head on it makes it very convenient to use. I did need to use some blue Loctite on it to keep the brass hammer head secured. But I have plenty of that, so NBD.If you have a milling machine, you NEED one of these.
