I have been looking for some foam shields for my two young boys that would be safe and hold up to some semi rough play. I bought two of the large shields and have been really happy with them. They are fairly expensive, compared to the cost of the other options I was looking at, and I was hesitant to buy them for fear they would immediately break as many foam toys do. However, it's been a great purchase. These are fairly thick and durable, and look just as good today as they did when I bought them last year after a lot of play battles.I don't usually post reviews, but I saw my boys playing with them again this morning and was impressed how they've held up. I recommend if you are looking for something sturdy but safe and flexible that can last for many play sword fights.

I've been very surprised as the craftmanship and beauty of these toy shields. The artwork is gorgeous, I don't know why the seller doesn't just post a real picture of the shield since the the actual shield is much prettier than the drawings they've posted. I was impressed by the attention to detail by even having designs on the back of the shield.The construction is solid with a smart design. Metal rivets attach the velcrow strap to the back but the strap detaches on one side (shown in the pictures) reducing the chance of twisted arms. The foam is very firm and but probably soft enough to prevent most injuries.Can't wait to give them to my nephews!

This shield is sturdy & can handle the rough & tumble play of my 5 year old. The imagery is vibrant and looks better up close than in the Amazon image. This exceeded my expectations. My son loves it!

Very pleased with these. They are large enough and well made enough to put up with a lot of imaginative play from big kids!

This is exactly what we were looking for. Larger than the other “lion” one, similar from the same make. Happy.

Bought this for my 8 year old grandson as we are due to be staying in a castle next month and I thought it would create a bit of fun together with a sword and outfit. I am very pleased with this shield. Shield has a good solid feel, colour is clear and is soft so “sibling interaction” is not likely to be an issue. Although it has not yet been used by a child I thoroughly recommend

Fun item, bought it for my friend, decent size, and well crafted. I still think the price point is a bit high, but this could easily be used for a first time LARP event or cosplay.
