Product worked as expected and we’re happy with it. We applied with a paint brush, layering the rot area multiple times. Dried back hard and clear, worked great.

Excellent product for repairing small areas of rotten wood when you cannot reasonably replace the whole structure. As of this purchase have used it 3 times. A bit expensive and epoxy resins are a touch difficult to handle but it has worked very well.

Great product, and great customer service. post office must have dropped an anvil on the box, because they managed to puncture the resin container. They actually tried to rebox the oozing (smh).Amazon and supplier fixed the problem, and when it arrived in perfect condition was very happyThe mix ratio suggested for my use was 1:1:1 part a, part b, and xylene. This have copious coverage for the ply floor, with an increased dry time. Amazing finish, and hard as nails.

I have a 100+ year old home that has wood siding and many decorative wood pieces that were not maintained before I bought the house. The worst part of the house is a large gable decoration in the shape of a cross made of 6" x 6" beams. The wood was just starting to lose paint when I bought the house, and after a few winter the paint was completely gone. Carpenter bees moved into the fresh wood and turned the beams into hollowed out shells. The bees continued to attack the wood for years despite my best efforts to control them. I finally set up scaffolding to reach the top and was able to control the bees for good. However, to my dismay it appeared the gable decoration was a total loss. I thought about taking it down and replacing it but I would have to get some exotic wood or it would be sure to fail in no time. I found out about this product from a friend, although I was skeptical, I decided to give it a try.I took a drill bit through the carpenter bee holes in the bottom of the beam and drilled completely through the top. Then, I plugged the holes at the bottom with Abatron epoxy wood filler. After that, I poured the LiquidWood epoxy into the holes at the top of the beam to completely fill the voids created by the carpenter bees. The next day, I was amazed at how the beam went from being something that could be ripped apart by bare hands to a like-new beam. The top of the beam had a lot of completely rotten spots that had caved in to the carpenter bee chambers so I solidified them with LiquidWood and filled the rest of the way with the epoxy wood filler. I have found that the epoxy wood filler does not crack out like the polyester wood fillers that I used to use. This stuff saved me thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours of labor. I just bought the two-gallon kit to fix up the other gable decoration on the front of my house that is in much worse shape. This product has exceeded my expectations and gave me a whole new outlook on my home restoration process.

I've been restoring a 170 year old house for 25 years, and will ALWAYS try and save original architectural elements rather than replace with new, whenever it is remotely possible. That said, I have gone through a LOT of wood stabilizer/restorers - restoring 28 windows, all the exterior soffit and facia, sills, floors, doors, porches, stairs, beams, you name it. The Abatron product was one of the first ones I tried. But it is also more expensive, so I did try other products, thinking I might get equivalent results. BIG mistake. There is no comparison, especially when you are working on elements outside the home. Exterior sills that I used Abatron on 25 years ago are just as solid, without cracks etc. as when I first restored them. Exterior sills where I used other wood hardener/stabilizers have awful issues, with cracking being one of the worst. So it was apparent that spending the extra money is definitely worth it in the long term. Additionally, if I don't want to use massive quantities of the Abatron WoodEpox putty to build up large areas of missing wood, I have found that the LiquidWood mixed with sawdust does a fantastic job. While the product can be used year round, don't expect fast results in cold weather. The hotter it is the better, unless you have a method to heat what you are working on. I'll be buying this for awhile yet - have to start on 28 pairs of shutters next!

This is an excellent product for many demanding wood repair/restoration projects. I've found that it can take a bit of experimenting to get it to behave like I need it to in some non-typical applications but by carefully following the instructions and paying attention to results it gives excellent results. Attached photos show a door restoration project I did. It started out looking pretty hopeless but came out amazing in the end!

I've heard very good things about this. Used it on rotted timbers. Takes a long time to harden/dry. Longer than most epoxies. On this coats, still tacky after 36 hours.

We use Abatron frequently to correct rotted wood issues on our circa 1900 home. This year, we stripped the lead-based paint from the garage, and "painted" the siding with Liquid-Wood to correct rotted wood, and to permit the new paint to stick better to old wood. You'll want to play with cure-times - especially in colder weather, and in thinner coats. But this stuff is wonderful on rotted wood - especially if the wood can't be easily replaced.

It’s amazing I suggest mixing it with sawdust for outstanding results. I’ve been using it for many years and pay the premium buying it from local suppliers.
