Full Of Help And Hope
After literally writing THE book on ADD/ADHD in the 1990s, “Driven To Distraction”, Dr. Hallowell and Dr. Ratey return with new insights and information accumulated over the past quarter century. While some (or even a lot) of this may be familiar to anyone diagnosed and living with ADHD (ADD is now a subtype of ADHD called Inattentive ADHD), the authors do a great job of making the data and treatments presented accessible and relatable, likely due in no small part to both having ADHD themselves. The tone of the book is conversational and yet informative, serious but also hopeful. They fully acknowledge how challenging, harmful, and disruptive ADHD can be, but offer reassurances that there are methods and strategies to deal with it and even improve quality of life, all backed up with data and anecdotes.I look forward to implementing some of their suggestions in my own life.

An Excellent Resource for ADHD
I gave this book five stars ⭐️, because it is short, but well written. It is an excellent source for those who are neuro divergent. It’s main focus is on a strength based treatment plan that emphasizes essentials, such as exercise and nutrition, but also includes medications when necessary. It also lists and illustrates the many gifts of those with ADHD. Read this book!

Comprehensive… there is light at the end of the tunnel.
I first bought the audiobook. The knowledge I heard so so comprehensive compared to any explanation I’ve ever received. I’m 38 and I was officially diagnosed when I was 8 with combined. I did well in the Marine Corps because well, morning PT everyday for more than a decade… after, life as a normal adult, I’ve struggled until now. I feel confident to set a treatment plan with my providers that includes exercise/balance exercise, and diet and without going to pay their refereed colleagues money... How to manage 50 tabs open at once is my first challenge. 10/10. Would recommend to any ADHDer struggling to understand the basics of how your brain works so you can build a plan and more forward. All of the information beyond their recommendation for their colleagues paid treatment options are mostly available online for free with a little scientific research. This book breaks it down so well, I bought the paperback as well so I may have a physical reference to go back to. For some reason this is not available in ebook.

Thrilled with this new book!
I've been an ADHD Coach for over two decades and follow the work of the 'greats' in this vertical and these authors are two of those greats. This book is nearly 20% citations - meaning there is a ton of research behind all of the content. That means a lot to me as a professional working with adults with ADHD. It was well written, concise, and after the copious notes I took, I have additional tools to help my clients with. I was most pleased to read so much of what I already do was validated within these pages. Thank you Ned and John for your latest work to help so many.

Very helpful and accessible
I have also read the first book by Edward M. Hallowell and John J. Ratey which is wider in scope but less accessible than «ADHD 2.0». It's volume of less than 200 pages makes it also a short read ;-) I can highly recommend it to family members and friends who have persons with ADHD in their life. It helps to understand certain unusual behaviors and patterns and it provides techniques to address these if they start to affect your daily life.

I love The Refreshing Take on ADHD: Uncovering Strengths
ADHD 2.0 by Dr. Edward M. Hallowell and Dr. John J. Ratey is a groundbreaking book that offers an insightful and updated perspective on Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The authors, both renowned experts in the field and diagnosed with ADHD themselves, present a compelling blend of scientific research and personal anecdotes. They explore the latest developments in neuroscience and share practical strategies for managing ADHD. The book's strength lies in its positive approach, viewing ADHD not just as a disorder but as a unique set of brain-based traits that, if harnessed correctly, can lead to remarkable achievements and creativity. I love the positive spin on this and found the sections on diet, exercise and lifestyle particularly helpful.ADHD 2.0 is an essential read for individuals with ADHD, their loved ones, and professionals in the field. It combines scientific rigour with empathetic understanding, making it a valuable resource that shines a hopeful light on living with ADHD.I love its comprehensive coverage, engaging narrative, and practical approach to a complex topic. A great update on Driven to Distraction
