Very Good Head Magnifier It Gets The Job Done
Very nice head magnifier, a must have for any craftsmen. Quality and durability seem fine while also being light and easy to get used to on the head. Battery life is good the overall functionality meets expectations. The adjustable head strap works great, the lenses are clear with good magnification levels. Now, lets not fool ourselves. This is an inexpensive head magnifier that has to balance strength and durability while maintaining light weight as to make it bearable to wear for extended periods of time. In that regard, this is an excellent head lamp but don't expect it to hold up to a 6ft fall onto concrete that well. Also, the flip down lens and the side monocle need to be handled with a bit of care. The retaining clip for the flip down lens, that increase magnification over the main lens, can break if over bent. Also the monocle is held on with one screw that can have a tendency to back out. They could have used a slightly higher grade plastic for this but it's serviceable to the handy even with it's minor drawbacks. I don't think you'll find better in this price range.

About what I expected.
Let's face it... when we get older, our eyes just aren't what they used to be. I'm a techie person, so I do a lot of PC board dev and repair. I have a couple soldering stations that I use a lot for repairing and / or building custom PCB's. I was having a hard time with my in-eye magnifiers and so I decided to get this to see if it would help. For the price, I expected something that was usable and functional but nothing extra special. That's basically what I got. The headband adjustment on the unit works, but it feels like if I try to tighten it too much, the adjustment might break, so I just tighten it enough to keep it steady on my head. The LED light, while it does work, the On / Off switch is kind of cheap and it's difficult to work when the unit is on my head. I find myself fumbling with it a lot when I try to turn it on. there's a panning adjustment for the light (left / right adjust) that keeps getting moved inadvertently when I try to turn the light off and on also. Not a big deal, but just something to be aware of. While it does offer some light for you, it's not great light so don't expect much. The magnifying lenses work well. They are not high quality, but they work well enough to get the job done. I do like the fact that you can combine the 3 different lenses to get different magnifications as needed. Also, the instructions didn't mention this that I saw, but you can remove the fold down eye-loop and move it to the other side if you want. It's mounted on the right side by default and in my case, I'm left-eye dominant so I wanted it on the left side. You just have to remove 2 screws to do it. Pretty easy. Overall, I would say it's definitely worth the price, but don't get upset if it breaks after a while. You are, after all, paying a very low price for this so don't expect really high quality.

A homeowners version of what professionals use
This head banded magnifier is much like inspection head band magnifiers I have used in the electronics industry, just a cheaper build with a much cheaper price. The extra stereo flip magnifier is a great addition to just the single swivel down magnifier of which I have used, and does work very well. The headband swivels to fit the adjustment know behind the magnifiers. If you collapse it too far, it will be tight to expand the head band to where the adjustment knob can do it's job. It's comfortable with no sharp edges, magnifies well, and the swivel light also provides good coverage. Professionals use these because your hands are free and they works so well.

Functional but not exceptional.
-The lenses on this are great and work well. -The LED light is kind of weak and would be nice if it were a little brighter and had a wider area of coverage. -The Ratchet that adjusts the head band size is kind of weak. I am bald and my lack of luxurious flowing hair means I need to use a small diameter setting. The band does not adjust small enough without really torquing down the ratchet knob and even when I do and have it nice and tight, it eventually pops loose and starts to slump down. I end up having to wear a knit cap under it just to "fatten" my head enough to get a snug fit. -There are knobs near the temples to adjust the stiffness in the movement of the lenses. They never seam to get tight enough to keep the lenses from sliding down. It would be nice if this adjustment worked well enough so that when you flip it up it stays up and vice versa. The magnifier works well if you are already working near a good light source. Even though all of the knobs and adjustments are a bit dodgy and can be annoying, if you are only using these for small jobs like I do then it's okay and worth the cheap price. However, if you need something that will be comfortable when adjusted for prolonged periods of time you may want to pay a few extra bucks for something better. For me these are adequate, but my demands of this product are relatively small. Also, if it matters to anyone, The photo of the product in the description is red and black but mine were gray and black (for anyone out there that might be aesthetically minded). I think most potential buyers won't care as long as the product works, but I figured I would mention it just in case.

See what you are doing
LED lighting is bright, better than the old incandescent versions. Works as expected. I purchased a couple of these to use for up close work. Had cataract replacement and lost all the up close capability. Yes, I look like a jeweler but it is what it is.

I ordered this head magnifier not totally sure about the quality. I was pleasantly surprised when I received it and put it to work. the whole thing is made of plastic which contributes to its light weight. the only metal parts are the two screws on the temple areas. the head piece sits comfortably on the head and does not move once adjusted. The magnifiers are quite adequate, so you don't have to bring the job right under your nose to see it, like some of the other counterparts out there. there are three layers of magnification on the head piece which is more than enough for any eye. It also has a nice fluorescent light on the top which works surprisingly well with two AAA batteries which are also included in the package. I think they should improve on the plastic band that goes around the head. It feels too thin and may break if bent. Overall, Im very pleased with this product and will buy from the seller again.
