Magick Botanical, Shampoo Oil Free, 16 Fl Oz

I purchased Magick Botanicals Oil Free Shampoo and Conditioner. because I was on a food program that did not allow oil-based skin or hair products. Truly, I wasn't looking forward to a product that may dry my scalp and hair out. Surprise! I love it and tho I'm not on the diet any longer, I still use the shampoo and conditioner because my hair and scalp are healthier than ever. I have had allergic reaction to chemicals now for many years and never realized that my shampoos and conditioners were creating an allergic reaction on my scalp. I kept switching from one beauty supply brand to another...still getting an itchy scalp. No more! Magick Botanicals is my brand forever! Packaging 3 bottles together is a great idea, because I think it will balance out with the one bottle of conditioner I bought. I always have had a lot of conditioner left long after the shampoo is gone. I will stick with Magick Botanicals Oil Free Shampoo from now on.

My dermatologist gave me a list of products I'm "allowed" to use. Magick Botanicals was the only product on that list that didn't test on animals so I opted to try it. I've been using it for about a year now and have had no allergic reactions. I read the reviews and a lot of folks complain that is doesn't lather. Its not suppose to as lathering agents are actually an allergen for many people. This shampoo is very thin like water so be careful when you use it the first couple of times until you get used to using something so different.

I don't have a problem with fragrances (that I know of) but I AM allergic to ammonia and highly sensitive to acidic ingredients (citrus). I am VERY pleased with this shampoo. I've tried a number of different organics but this one really made my hair soft & shiny and settled down the itchiness that other products seemed to give. I love the conditioner because it detangled without leaving my hair greasy.This is not a thick shampoo but you will not need a lot to clean your hair. It's necessary to give it time to remove the additives from other shampoos, so give it a few times before you decide. I've also noticed if my hair is extra dirty that it won't lather as well either, but the second shampoo generally produces a light lather.

I've been using this shampoo for about 3 years and won't use anything else. I'm allergic to ammonia/acidic products which can cause severe itchiness...but NOT with THIS Shampoo! Cleans without being harsh because there are very few ingredients and basically just cleans without frills. If your hair is very dirty it will not lather on the first wash but work it in anyway and then rinse. On the second application you should see the difference and there should be later and works same as any other shampoo (also should use less amount the second application). You will find that after awhile your hair just won't get as dirty as quickly because there isn't anything staying in your hair for it to stick to!

This shampoo is too runny to lather, and I have a difficult time getting my shoulder-length hair as clean as I'd like.

With a fragrance allergy it is so hard to find a decent shampoo and this is it! Thank you!

My hair never looked better. The itching on my scalp is now over. Loved it. Wish all products were fragrance free.

I am a Black female with extremely tightly curled hair that is chemical free. Needless to say, my hair grows out into an afro. My hair used to be dry before I started using this shampoo and now it is soft and has a natural sheen, likely because this shampoo does not strip the hair. As some reviewers have already mentioned, it is thin compared to traditional shampoos, but still very effective. I also like the fact that it does not smell like a chemical factory like some unscented products have in the past. I ALSO love the fact that there are no nut oils, botanical extracts, glycerin or any other rash inducing ingredients that will cause my dermatitis to flare up. YAY!!
