Taking your birth chart readings and predictions to the next level
Extremely detailed, I could tell she was a Virgo before she showed her birth chart 😅 lolBut on a serious note, as a beginner/intermediate student of astrology with a very strong curiosity to learn just how to not only read charts, but to see the progressions/transits clearly and all major events of the skies like eclipses and moon cycles. She also delve into House cusp and axis which showed a bit of a sneak peak into the technique of synthesizing the aspects even further of a chart to make a clear prediction. It should be noted that not many other astrology books talk about the house cusps or details as a book of its own. That’d definitely be a book worth reading!Im definitely going to give it another read, this time with notes! It’ll definitely be worth it to approach this book with a highlighter, notebook and your birth chart. Helps to really use yourself to test some of these techniques and even learn more about yourself along the way.

happy customer
after all the headaches i've gotten trying to purchase used books from Amazon.com THIS was the ONLY bookthat didn't make me grab my prescription of xanax!!! my credit card got compromised, and my computer got avirus, through Amazon.com. my credit card company told me so! so, i will be seeking something from themfor my "pain and suffering". A $100.00 gift certificate would certainly be appropriate. other than my credit cardgetting compromised, I was also lied to by Barnes and Not-Noble. they PROMISED, PROMISED that a book i paid for was in the mail. i waited a MONTH!!! NO hen i wrote them asking about my book. they gave me ANOTHER day thatthe book was mailed......STILL NO BOOK A MONTH LATER! Asked them to refund my card, they did QUICKLY! Ok?So what happened to the book that was "in the mail"? AGAIN they lied and never sent it. But was willing to keep my money! And another experience was.....the vendor sent me the wrong book! SIGH! I hope Amazon.com does something tomake me wanna order ANYTHING thrU them again!Other than that..........I'm glad to say you're the ONLY good experience I've had thru them! GREAT BOOK!!! TYSM!

This Book Inspired me to Write this Review
In short, I love this book and I'm not even finished with it yet.I've paid loads of money for professional astrologers classes and even took a trip to Bulgaria for an astrological retreat to learn from one of my mentors and this book distills many of those techniques in a very simple and understandable way. I'm easily distracted and rarely finish books but Carol Rushman's writing style keeps mind focused and fully engaged. I will finish this book. It's written very simply, well organized and to the point. In tropical astrology, I have zero earth in my chart but (because of Virgos like her) if I could add one earth placement it would be Mercury in Virgo.

My go-to reference as a professional astrologer…
Love this book from Carol Rushman! She does a beautiful job of explaining multiple predictive techniques like the progressed moon and lunar cycles/eclipses. I have a lot of books on astrology and have been a professional for several years, and this book is one of my go-to references for predictive methods.

One of my top 10 astrology books
As a student of astrology, I read as many books on the subject as I can get my hands on. The problem with a huge percentage of them is that despite the author being a great astrologer, they are terrible writers. I often snooze through some of the long, rambling books out there. This one, however, is written in a very clear and readable format. I’ve learned a lot, especially the natal promise of the chart and transits. My only wish is that the author put out more books!

Good addition to one's library
Despite some typographical errors that might lead the novice off-course, and despite its not being true that back in the day there were no books on predictive astrology as Rushman says, this is a good addition to one's library and worth the read.

Worth buying, but not the best
I refer to 'The Art of Predictive Astrology' relatively often. I think Carol Rushman is a competent astrologer. If you don't have anything else, the book is a great guide to the progressed planets, using aspects to predict marriage and divorce, et cetera. My complaint is in the way it's written. No one likes a dry textbook but her book would be much better in a textbook format. Charts (charts in the traditional sense, not astrological charts) and tables would be useful and in fact, would have worked much better than her fleeting glimpses of what some of the signs denote in certain situations. Equally annoying is how personal she made the book ("I don't like the moon in Cancer, but that's because mine is natally in Aquarius" - ?). Personal anecdotes about having children, divorcing, and making money and blah blah blah just detract from the book.I have encountered many of the ideas in the book for the first time (for example, early and late degree planets) but again it's tough to make the ideas useful based on what is in the book - she probably means to provoke thought in the reader and have him or her do their own research and discovery, which is good, but the flip side to that is if you're not advanced enough you won't be able to do the predictive astrology that she outlines in the book.Good for advanced students of astrology, but beginners and intermediate students will need to learn from other sources. econ
