My 13-year-old got sick and tired of his backpacks breaking only a couple months into each school year. He saw that my 16-year-old had a messenger bag and wanted one similar to his older brother so we looked on amazon and this is the one he chose.This bag is sturdy, holds up to a kids' mishandling it and it still looks new as the day we purchased it. I am considering purchasing one for myself as I started a new job and will need a briefcase to transport my work laptop.

After about a week of use, the hardware for the strap broke, fell on the ground and ended up cracking the case of my laptop which was inside. The hardware definitely needs to be upgraded and switched out since several other individuals have experienced this same issue. The center locking piece of hardware would also come loose and open while carrying the bag, as well.$70 is too much to pay for a bag that can't hold up to normal use.

I have purchased 2 bags at two different times. Both bags the metal piece on the strap cracked. I can no longer use the strap. I just purchased a 3rd bag. I hope the metal on the strap doesn’t crack on the new bag. It is a great bag. But you need to use more durable metal on the strap for the bag.

The leather is poor quality and the lining is rough and burlappy as well as stiff, almost cardboardy.This was a bummer and it's going back.

The old goat smell will forever ruin this one for me. I won't suggest it because of the odor. Craftsmanship and durability is as expected but OMG the smell. There is no escape. It must be tanned in goat urine.

I've had this about a month,so I waited to see how it help up before reviewing. It was definitely stiff when I got it,which was expected. I put a coat of mink oil on before I even used it. It is softening more with use. As you can see from photo,I keep it packed down with file folders and planners. I also usually have my tablet and another 1 inch journal stuck in there. It is heavy with all that but I don't carry it far. I use it in home care,so it's been great just putting it in my seat,laying the top flap open and can access all my stuff throughout the day. Even with leather seats it doesn't fly all around ot land in my floorboard if 8 hit the breaks hard. I keep a bunch of pens in 1 front pocket and my mouse and sticky notes in the other. My only complaint is a gimpy area on top of the bag that gets crinkled and seems to cave in when I go to close and buckle it up. Its just on 1 side and you can see it in the first photo. It's not a critical issue but a peeve. I have to manually smooth it out and pop that sunken area up. Maybe it will correct over time. May not be the best for someone who needs to pack a lot in it and carry it for extended period of time. It will get heavy. Overall, great space,craftsmanship and sturdy. Oh, and yes,it did have a powerful smell but that faded within a day or two. I think this bag will just get better as time goes on.

This bag will be used for all of my electronics when they need to with me. The bag is constructed very well. I know there was much about the smell of these bags. I am not sure what the issue is. It smells like tanned leather, exactly how it should smell! Not disappointed at all!! I am anxious to put this bag to good use. I checked out all of the stitching and tested zippers and buckles. Perfect. This is a quality leather laptop bag and a fair price. I would purchase this item again without hesitation.
