Amazfit GTR 2 Smart Watch, 1.39" AMOLED Display, GPS, iOS/Android

Why I bought the Amazfit GTR 2This is my 3rd time purchasing an Amazfit branded smartwatch. I high recommend getting the GTS 2 or the GTR 2 and not E or Mini versions. I originally purchased the Amazfit GTS 2 Mini and it was nice but I hated the blood oxygen monitor on it, I found myself in many situations where I received phone calls and wanted to answer but couldn't on the GTS Mini. I'm also an Apple Watch 5 owner and I even prefer this watch from that one. I'm no longer stuck in Apple's ecosystem, nor do I have to worry about charging two devices after a full day of work. Apple offers a lot features that you never really use because most of those features you turn off to save battery life. They forget we also need our smartwatch to be an watch an good extension of our phone.Why I like the GTR 2:I like the GTR 2 because it's offers a great experience, even from unboxing it.The screen is beautiful, I mean even more when you see it in person. I have no complaints at all. Absolutely gorgeous. I love the design, I love you can change the straps, and I love it looks like a classic timepiece. The markings are great when you have the analog clock enabled especially when Always-On mode is on. The clock faces are customizable and you can also download them from other apps. Honestly the watch faces are the best thing about this smart watch. Whatever you choose it looks great on the screen and can match with your attire very well.I really wanted a smart watch for notifications and phone calls, & its great for that too! Now I can check messages and emails at a glance as they come in throughout the days and I don't have to worry about missing that important call because I couldn't hear my phone or maybe I wasn't in a good vicinity to reach it.It's really a nice feature to have coming from the GTS Mini 2 that only presented notifications and no way to answer calls.Smart Health features:This is another reasoning onto why I love this watch. Its smart health features are awesome and very accurate most of the time. Every health feature just works well. I haven't ran into the problems I experienced on the GTS 2 Mini. The Zepp app presents all this information well and I utilize the information to help me experience better sleep and exercise.Alarm: Yeah, I know most reviewers don't talk about the simple stuff but having this watch as alarm is great. First, I don't need a loud siren to wake me up when I wear this watch. It vibrates my wrist to a custom vibration and my body knows to wake up and get active. No more snoozes, no more stress from an alarm.And the reason all of these features work is because of the battery life of this device being around 7 to 14 days on a single charge. I don't have to worry about charging, so everything is a connivence to use and it makes more fun and just worth the money also you get these features on the watch that make it even more of a bargain:Waterproof: take it in the shower, wash the dishes, is it working? Yes! Go swim, you good, it can handle it.Alexa & offline voice commands: Yep you can control your smart home from the Alexa on your watch, ask it questions. You can also control the watch just by using your voice. Not a feature I use all the time but its there and most important it works well.3gb of Music storage: they didn't lie here either, you can store up to 600 mp3s on this watch and enjoy them on the go or connect to some earbuds.Find my phone: I use this more often than not, the watch has good range. I always find my phone with this feature.Weather: It's so awesome to wake up look at your wrist and know to weather for the day. Didn't even have to reach for the phone at all. Just took a shower and got dressed for the day.Verdict:I could go all day singing GTR 2's praises, there's too much to love here and not so much to hate. Most of the problems that I see on YouTube from the original reviews have been fixed. It's not sluggish, it's very snappy. It's updated with Alexa. & I hear Amazfit is working on other update soon. Hopefully they add the camera remote back in on this watch cause that's a convenient feature to have as well. It's a MUST BUY for anyone wanting a smartwatch on iPhone or Android.

It is not the first time that I have bought an Amazfit watch, I've had 3 or four watches, but they were cheaper models like the Bip.I bought the GTR 2 because I wanted to be able to answer a call straight from my watch.I usually use it when my phone is charging, and I don't want to be sitting close to the electrical outlet.The call quality is excellent, my callers don't notice anything different when I answer on my watch.If you want it to monitor your sleep you will have to sleep with your watch on, which some people find difficult. I love this feature because it will give you a grade depending on the amount of sleep and the quality of it. Some of the things that it monitors are the time you are asleep, the times you wake up during the night, the amount of REM sleep, and the amount of deep sleep.Another feature that I use frequently is the Workout mode. I start a basketball workout when I start playing and it will log the duration of the workout, the calories that you burned, and the intensity of the workout.The app is not very useful to use at first, but I am pretty good at using it because all the models use the same app.One of the things that I had trouble with, is the notifications because you need to go to the settings and select all the apps that you want to show on your watch. You also need to set up the watch to be able to answer calls, otherwise, it will tell you that somebody is calling you but you won't be able to answer the call.Pros:Great quality when answering calls on your watch.A ton of great features for the price: Workout mode, step counter, Alexa integrated (I haven't used this feature, but some people will find it useful), you can control your music (pause, previous track, next track)Very useful app.Great battery life and is very fast to charge.Cons:The app is not very intuitive at the beginning, and some people will find it confusing or difficult to find the setting you want.Sometimes the watch disconnects when you charge it and it won't easily connect back (I reboot the watch first, and if that doesn't work I will restart my phone)In conclusion, I would recommend this watch if you don't mind spending some time at the beginning to do all the setup.

Started using the watch about 4 days ago and have compared it to several other watches. I really like the screen and have gotten used to navigating around the watch, farily simple after a few days. Example take medicine every hour for the next two weeks [ or forever if needed ]Calculator - why do none of the smartwatches have a basic calculator, much easier to use then pulling out my phone when shopping.Tasks - shopping list with due date. Grocery shopping, goto the bank, get gas, etcConversions - ounce, liter, lbs, byte, my, gb, tb, etc.Timezone chart - UTC to EST, IST to CST, etcNFC - Google Pay, Samsung, AppleVoice Recorder - while in the car I constantly want to remind myself of something and reaching for my phone is a no no when driving, using voice activation on the watch to start voice recording would be super helpful. Later on I would listen to the recordings and create tasks with them. Heck voice recordings that transcribe and create the actual tasks would be great [ and really pushing it ]Pull down shade - add airplane mode, shutdown and rebootI know this watch is marketed as a fitness watch which I feel hits the mark on but I am looking for a watch that can replace my phone for most of the basic functionality. A lot of the items already exist on the watch and just need to be enhanced, the other items appear to be basic requests yet add a lot of value to the watch.Either way I am enjoying the watch.My 2 cents...J

The screen is big and bright. The menus move nicely and the touch is very accurate. I have used it for many runs now and it to works perfectly, the mile marker its around the same place every time i run my route. There are many watch faces to pick from and they are nice looking. The music, weather notifications all work great. The watch face turns on when you flip your hand toward you to look at it, which i wish i would have done for the video but oh well. The battery lasts for a long time, at least over a week and then some. I wear it mostly to run and in door bike 4 times a week and then i normal take it off to wash the sweat and then leave it off unless i go out. I do have other normal watches that i rotate out thru the week so i don't wear every single day all day and it will last me a week to 2 weeks. I would highly recommend this watch for normal wear and to keep track of your work outs. Oh, also, the app that you use with the watch works great and is easy to use and looks good, keeps track of all your actions perfectly. Never used for sleep tracking, i cant sleep with something on my wrist.

I have used this watch for about 9 months. There are a few quarky things about this watch, but overall I was very satisfied with it. The GPS is good, fitness tracking is good, battery life is good. However, the other day the display just stopped responding. I pored through hours of troubleshooting, rebooting, and unpairing. I followed evey bit of advice I could and to no avail. It simply does not respond to any swiping touching and is entirely unusable. I reached out to amazfit and followed a tedious process of explaining the problem, uploading a video, everything. They have not replied or responded, even though their site promises 2 day response. All I got was an auto reply that my email was received. So unfortunately this is a cheap watch that doesn't last long and the company does not stand behind their products or warranty. Do not recommend.Update: I got a response a couple weeks later that said to reboot the watch and if that doesn't work to reach out through the retailer for warranty. And Amazon has a 30 day return policy. Total bogus warranty. I will never buy a watch from them again.

Initially, I had an Amazfit band 5 watch that I thought was pretty neat and efficient with a long battery life. Unfortunately, I dropped it on the ground, and just my luck, it landed on the face and cracked. I was heartbroken because I'd come to depend on it counting my steps and delivering phone notifications. I was about to replace it, but this model caught my eye. What really won me over was the Bluetooth call feature. Just to be clear, you can only receive/answer calls to speak through the watch. You cannot dial out and speak through the watch. But just being able to answer calls and talk hands-free is a major feature for a watch at this price point. Not only that, but this watch also has super long battery life. It has all the expected fitness features, and memory to store MP3s to play directly through the watch. Sure, there are other bigger brand-name watches that can do all of that or more, but do those watches go a week or more without charging? I don't think so! This is a perfectly capable, affordable, sleek-looking, lightweight smartwatch with long battery life. It's not a fussy device at all.

I primarily ordered the GTR2 (sports version) for the looks and after doing a lot of research decided to try it out. I had 3 different Fitbit devices and they all failed on me (hardware issues) so I wanted something different but affordable. The GTR 2 has nice looks but still has some flaws. I had it for a week now, was frustrated at the start but it kept growing on me. I'm still considering returning it but will give it another week and see.Here the issues I noticed:- No BMR calorie counting. It only reasonably counts calories when you specifically perform a workout activity. Outside that time the watch thinks you are dead meat with no calorie consumption. So these are only the active calories being counted here. No option to change that. But just running is not enough, you have to start the workout activity, else the calories won't be properly counted.- Automatic workout detection not working- Heartrate monitor is unreliable. While having a stroll around the block the numbers sometimes jump up and down anywhere between 70 to 130. Yes I wear the watch properly.- GPS is a bit rough and plots the line within a 200 meters range, even when you run a straight line on open field it sometimes looks like a zigzag on the map- Forget the music player. It's awful. No support for Spotify (as advertised). It only accepts local MP3 or Wav files. Did not let me load my Apple purchased music, only the old MP3s I ripped from my CDs. When you try to load anything else from your phone it just locks up the app, but no error message or info there about that. It took me 3 days to figure that out.- Volume control for playing music is also terribly complicated since you are forced to wipe thru the menu to find the control.- Sleep tracking unreliable. It seems to start too late and ignore my first hr of sleep. End time seems accurate. Sometimes naps don't recognize. So overall I'm always 2 hrs short on my recording.- The mobile app is ok - may have a few usability issues but I'm sure that will be fixed - nice charts and some good explanations are there.What I like about the watch:- Looks pretty good, big display with nice colors, thin bezel only so max use of watch diameter is for display- I like the PAI as a concept (Personal Activity Indicator - 7 day goal of staying active). Also the visual support for you current health age. It kind of got me motivated to walk and run more to get those numbers show up better.- Very responsive and fluid touch screen.- Some nice watch faces, total of 50+ free to choose. No 3rd party store though.- Nice charts and reports generate on the watch for each workout. So you get all that without needing to open the phone app.- Voice Commands work great and this seems to be a mature feature. You can control the watch with your voice, open apps and control workouts. Just flip arm and say 'Start Running'. It launches the 'running' workout, starts the GPS and you go running without having to even touch the watch.- Ability to take phone calls on the watch - seems flaky though and sometimes didn't work or words cut off on my end.So if you like the looks of this watch and the available 50 watch faces, don't need the music function and you are more of a casual athlete not requiring exact data, just a bit of extra motivation, then this watch may work and be fine. Else - for more serious action look for something else I'd say.

Let me start off by saying that I am not a watch person. I have never liked wearing a watch, but recently found a need to purchase a smartwatch.I do a lot of kayak fishing and I prefer to keep my iPhone 13 ProMax in my dry bag while out on the lake. But if I get a phone call that means I have to reach to the back of my kayak, unhook the dry bag, and then open the bag and take my phone out. By the time I finish with that I miss the call.With the Amazfit GTR 2 Smart Watch I can simply tap on the watch and answer the call. Is it perfect? No. Sometimes it's hard for the calling party to hear you. It also has very, very limited bluetooth range. For example, if you're at home and get a phone call while your phone is in the next room you probably won't be able to pick up the call on your watch.The Alexa compatibility is decent, not great. In order for it to even work at all you need to keep the Zepp watch app open on your phone. Because the watch has a speaker, I expected to get Alexa voice responses, but that doesn't happen. That pretty much eliminates a lot of Alexa functionality for me. That's disappointing to me because I do use Alexa for a lot of things including controlling many devices in my home.The data, health, and sleep tracking is good although I usually prefer to take the watch off when I sleep.The watch faces are OK, but nothing really stands out for me. When I bought the watch, all watch faces were free. But now the started adding watch faces that you have to pay for. I may end up trying to create my own instead.Overall, I'm happy with my purchase for the price. But I hope the next version has better bluetooth range and allows for the full Alexa experience.

It's classic edition with steel body. It's great watch looking very nice on your wrist. Battery timing is 4 days on full use, always display on function and bluetooth calling functions turn on. Moreover, it has black leather bands in this edition. Moreover, it is waterproof. I take shower by wearing this. Overall it is beautiful watch.. On negative side its Alexa function is little bit slow and offline voice assistant is also not responding quickly. Any how there is no need of these functions for me.. GPS is working fine, sports and other modes are very good. Heart beat and sleep time accuracy is very good.

This watch is an amazing improvement on my old Firbit charge 2, for about the same price. It is beautifully styled and has a huge number of features. While the battery doesn't quite live up to the projected time between charges, it is still far superior to many watches that are twice as expensive.
