Looks and sounds great.
Made a difference I’m my 2010 F150, Sounds awesome and looks great. Yes instructions are only a drawing parts list and not very clear. I had parts that were not on it. But had all the parts I needed, figured it out easy. Took an about an hour to put on. Would and have recommended this CAI to friends.

Installation Issues
I installed my Volant CAI this afternoon on my 09 F150. First off, there were no instructions (not complicated but this product does include replacing the coolant overflow). I contacted Volant tech support and was guided assisted by "Daniel" who was helpful. I downloaded a schematic type install instruction which did not include any particular starting point so I'm glad I've done some of this type of work previously on my truck. All set, no, after starting I noticed that the parts and diagram on the schematic did not match what I had in front of me. Again, called "Daniel". He indicated a change in the procedure which did match the parts but did not match the schematic and holes that needed to be drilled in the air box to accomodate a new method of securing the overflow container to the air box to ad stability to the coolant overflow and air box. Also, without "Daniel's" assistance it would have taken even longer trying to figure out the part discrepency and need to bore a hole in the air box. Also, Daniel pointed out the need to remove the rubber matting that the shielded the inner fender area from the OEM air box and OEM air snorkle extended through from the OEM box. Removing the matting allows unrestricted air movement into lower portion of the Volant air box. Hopefully my efforts will be worth it. Nice design with potential. I'll update my eval. after I've driven with the new intake for a while.

Instalation
I recently purchased this CAI for my '09 F-150 with the 5.4. This is my first use of a CAI and I have to say that I'm not overly impressed with the Volant so far. The install instructions are sketchy at best and the engineering seems a bit lacking. Over all the install was quite easy, as long as you don't require precise instructions. For example there's no mention of draining the OEM coolant overflow tank. I know it's very obvious that it needed to be done but why isn't this mentioned? The replacement coolant tank attaches to the inner fender with ONE bolt, this is a fairly long tank that's half full of coolant. It's kind off heavy. Volant's solution to this issue is supplying a short metal tab and a rubber grommet, at least there's supposed to be a rubber grommet mine is missing. This metal tab attaches to the side of the air box with two bolts and the other end supports the underside of the coolant tank. Of course you have to measure, mark and drill the holes in the air box to mount the bracket! The other thing that bothers me about this is the MAF attachment point on the intake tube. It's not particularly flat which makes me a bit concerned about a vacuum leak. I'll have to keep an eye on it I guess. For something that is supposedly "engineered" for specific vehicles, and costs so much, this CAI leaves something to be desired! Next time around I think I'll give K&N a try.

Great
After Decipering instructions, was able to install it pretty well. The product was designed to include fatory mopunting hols and brackets, as well as included the new antifreeze bottle. The instructions to install need to be reworked and include a couple step by step photographs as well, but if you have one ounce of imagination and mechanical ability, you will do fine. I seen instantly improved throttle response and seen about one MPG improvement while being a little heavy footed (increased mileage at lower speeds) overall, a good product.

Great product. Terrible instructions.
All you get as far as installation instructions is a picture diagram. And not a very good one at that. You shouldn't have a problem if you are mechanically inclined. I am and it took me about three hours to install.

but I wouldn't recommend it.
After six months there has been no change. None in performance or gas mileage. It is a bit noisy when running through the gears but does quiet down after that. I'll keep it, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Could be better
Could use install instructions that are vehicle specific
