A little unrealistic

Bought it to see a classic from the school days. Still entertaining and does anyone else remember when we all thought the Mayans were right and the world would end in 2012? Funny how serious it seemed but here we are a decade later and fine for the most part LOL

You can’t keep renting forever. Two or three rentals equal a purchase.

While the story can lag a bit for the most part it does a great job when disaster strikes. The acting by a majority of the actors was well done which made it a good movie to watch.

This moxie is a cult classic

I saw this movie many yrs ago and wanted to see it again. Very good movie. Had a nightmare about it that night.

The cover says it all. It is fine as disaster films go despite its silly premise, but the moment that stays with me is the one on the cover.

Well............not exactly, but the world is going thru some changes that would have some people concerned! Great flick - I have watched it 12-20 times since it came out. Not as much as other movies but more than others. I like these type of movies plus I enjoy the actors/actresses in it! Enjoy!!

This movie is absolutely redonkulous!!! The story is pretty flimsy - BUT - I have to say - its is extraordinarily ENTERTAINING!!! The special effects are really good. It's hard to tell what is CGI and what was physically acted. Naturally, there is a lot of green screen used - but its difficult to figure out where they blended the two or which scenes were entirely CGI. For me - when you can't tell - the CGI creators did a GREAT job.As implausible the story is - it is still an entertaining movie. It is fun watching the epic destruction of major cities an landmarks!! The suspense is wonderful watching the heroes getting themselves out of trouble. There is light humour throughout that makes you laugh. Sure there are plot holes and sure there are stuff that doesn't make sense - but this ISN'T a geological documentary people. It's entertainment - and it's at its best!This blu ray version came with three discs - one containing the film with commentary. The second disc is the special features disc containing behind the scenes, interviews, etc. And the third disc is the DVD and digital copy - the kind that you insert into a pc. I'd rather a code that you can use to upload to your existing googleplay library (for example). But overall - lots of good features that contribute to the overall value.If you enjoy "end-of-the-world" movies - then you're going to love this one!

The Gone With The Wind of that peculiar genre - the Disaster movie. A perversely detailed masterwork with every detail - from a crack in the asphalt to buildings splitting at the seams and spilling flailing humans to the wind to Yellowstone Natl. Park writhing and erupting majestically right in your face - this CGI museum of unnatural disasters opens one door after another with bigger, more jaw-dropping, and seemingly inescapable doomscapes behind every one. An orgy of imagination propelled by overheated computers, plausible physics and a solid cast to an ending of accumulated cataclysm which makes seeing Air Force One pop out of a tsunami aimed right at our heroes feel like a breather from everything else that's been going on. Makes "Titanic" look like a 30 sec. commercial for sweaty cars and "Gravity" like circling the Earth for 2 hours looking for a parking spot near the Mall by comparison. Of course, all of this would wear out its welcome pretty fast if we didn't care about Chewitel, Cusack and Co. but somehow we really do. 2012 - The rollercoaster other rollercoasters don't like to talk about - go 2 disc Blu-ray or wait for UHD/4K (maybe a long time.)

2012 is one of my favorite desaster movies , the picture quality was good, watch it on my 4k time and this regular bluray look reallly good.
