Selections from Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince: Easy Piano Solos

Great songs for any HP fan!
I bought this for my cousin, and she loves it (and I love to listen, of course!)! I was really happy that it included "In Noctum" even though the movie cuts the majority of this beautiful song out. But I mainly bought it because it has "When Ginny Kissed Harry," my favorite song out of the whole series. These compositions are certainly not for beginners. The "Piano Solos" series are for those who can cite read and play substantially. While there are a few songs that my cousin has a difficult time reaching some of the notes (her hands aren't big enough to hit them all at once), the majority of the songs are not as difficult. I highly recommend this for any HP fan who can play the piano or knows someone who can!

A Good Score for the Soundtrack
I haven't played the piano in a long time, yet I found it pretty easy to start playing the pieces in this book. It is simple enough for someone with some prior experience in playing piano to enjoy as well as not being too simple to get boring or too simplistic. However, that could also be a bad thing for beginners, for whom I think Big Notes Piano has published a simpler version.Hooper's soundtrack for this movie was very good, and the sheet music here arranged sticks to the tune of the pieces. I'm able to play these songs that sound quite similar to the actual soundtrack, so that's a big plus. The only thing I find wrong is that it's a selection of pieces, not sheet music of every track. I would have liked that because I like some music on the soundtrack that was not included in this book.Otherwise, this is a great purchase for anyone who wants to play Harry Potter on the piano.

Great Book of Solos
I am extremely pleased with the number of selections within this book and while this is not a "beginner" book by any means, it is absolutely not overly difficult. There are some chords that require quite a bit of stretching but it's fairly easy to drop a few notes and still maintain the integrty of the piece (which is great for me as my finger span is not that large).

Pretty good
If you are a Harry Potter fan and play the piano then it's a must.I can't say I was overly impressed with the actual soundtrack, but then this movie is sad, so what did I expect. The songs included in the book here are thus sad and slow.Harry and Hermione is rather upbeat and fun to play, while When Ginny kissed Harry is a sweet, moving song.
