Very motivating, great combos that all make sense while sparring
Bas with his Dutch accent is the only person other than my Krav Maga instructor who can motivate me to put a 100% in. Once you get used to the numbers he calls out, it is pretty easy to follow, but not easy to keep up. I've been doing his Boxing and Thai boxing CDs, had to burn them to audio files to get them on my phone. As others have pointed out, the pace of the Thai boxing CD seems a bit slower than the boxing CD.You should get some good instruction on boxing form before trying this CD, since the fast pace will create a lot of bad habitsI've started to do these CDs with a set of boxing bands to make the combos harder, and also do them while on the ground.

Excellent workout
Well it's $60 for Bas Rutten yelling out combinations in his dutch accent. It is very effective though. I love this workout. My fiance has Insanity, she got me the Tapout workout dvd set. They are both pretty good but I find myself always coming back to the Bas Rutten CDs. You get 4 CDs and 1 DVD that shows Bas explaining what he wants you to do for all the combos. I have had the workout CDs for awhile and I have only ever used the Boxing and Thai Boxing CDs. The Boxing/Thai Boxing CDs have 2 and 3 minute rounds. Each one will give you about a 28 minute workout. I started out doing the Boxing CD. It is very fast paced. The thai boxing CD is not quite as fast paced but you get just as tired if not more by throwing in the kicks and knees. You will not learn perfect technique with the workout CDs. I would recommend going to a school to learn the proper ways to throw each punch and how to kick. Or you can study videos on the internet that explain in detail how to throw each punch and kick correctly. That way you are using good technique while doing the workout. I haven't even gotten to the all around workout or all around fighting CDs yet. It's good that Bas lets you know when you have 30 seconds left in the round. Also during the 1 minute rest period Bas offers some tips and words of encouragement. I have never been able to get into the home workout dvd stuff. However, this workout for some reason offers a great workout and is very fun and I keep coming back to doing it on off days from Judo.

Helped Save My Life (Age 48)
November 2015 update: 87 lbs off for 3 yrs! (184 from 271 lbs). Thankfully Bas created these workouts! After doing so much to correct my health, neck and spine injuries sustained from youth football disabled me in 2014. Awaiting a 3 level neck ACDF just to start! Bone transplants, titanium plates, screws and a plastic cage! Prognosis is not good, but the doctors don't know me. They also don't know how I avoided them for so long, telling me that a normal person would have had surgery 10 years ago. Thanks to my daughter, Dr. Dean Clark (US olympic track team chiropractor), Dr. Charles Stein-DO, Whitney Green (acup), Cannabis (I don't use pharmaceuticals - not for anything - not even over the counter. Defeated diabetes and a bad thyroid without them as well), a great diet, LOVE and of course Bas!Thank you Bas, for being an inspiration and sharing your knowledge.January 2014May 2012, Age 46, 271 lbs, diagnosed with diabetes, bad thyroid, told would be on medication for both for rest of life. Was an athlete through college and physically fit for a decade after, but had spent the last several years endulging in all the things I had given up to live fit. It was glorious! and it almost killed me.When I first got Bas' workouts, I could barely do 10 minutes on a treadmill. 18 months later I still found it a challenge to complete an entire workout, but I went from 271 to 208 lbs, reversed my diabetes and my thyroid is running like a champ. I haven't looked or felt this good since playing college football and I have better abs. 3x a week, 30 minutes a day + good nutrition.Bas' workouts are short, highly effective, adaptable and will certainly help people of all ages move and live better. Bas knows what works!

Bas delivers the goods, like a good liver punch!
I have had the CD/DVD collection for about 5 days, and I have done the boxing workout twice...without the bag, just shadowboxing. Man, what a great workout! My shoulders were burning, my legs, and I was sweating like crazy. It is such a simple idea, but very effective. Bas teaches you some punching and kicking combos and also some exercises on the DVD and booklet. He then assigns numbers to the combos and on the Audio CD's during a 28-30 minute workout he tells you which combos to do and/or exercises. The Boxing, Thai Boxing, and All Around Fighting CD's have 2 tracks each. Track one is 2 minute rounds with a 1 minute rest. Track 2 is 3 minute rounds with a 1 minute rest. The All Around Workout, I believe, is straight through with no rest. Total for 1 workout is about 28-30 minutes. I have yet to try the Thai, All-Around Workout, and All-Around Fighting CD's yet.My immediate goal is to be able to do the Boxing Workout, track 2 (3 minutes rounds), on the heavy bag. Then I will move on to the Thai Boxing workout. I want to thank Bas for giving such a great product. It is very motivating to have him guiding me through the workout with him shouting combos. The continuous combos do not allow you the luxury of slowing down your pace like you would normally if you were just shadowboxing or hitting the heavy bag on your own.I love this product! Thanks Bas!

Great CD to get if you want someone giving you ...
Great CD to get if you want someone giving you directions when your working out. You won't become a professional boxer but definitely worth the aerobic exercise. System is older and price tag is high for just a few recordings of this work out, but I was tired of doing P90x, T25 or just jogging on treadmill. It's great if your a beginner and want to change things up with a punching bag.Cd comes with 4 different workouts with two different intervals for each workout. Boxing, Thai Boxing (which is just boxing with knees/kicks), MMA/ground workout, and All Around workout (Full body including abs - exp: situps, pushups, squats).Point is it got me moving and help me get a workout in with a punching bag rather than just jogging. I feel like i get to release alot more stress when I actually get to hit something rather than just running in place.
