A great figure (if you can get it for around twenty bucks)!!
I got very lucky and was able to score this figure during one of the brief, 10 minute or less periods in which Amazon had it in stock for its actual retail price (or at least close to it - $21.99.) That's a pretty steep retail already, but this one is totally worth it. However, there are scalpers, ahem, third party resellers out there charging as much as $40-50 dollars for this figure. If you're thinking of paying anything near that for this...DON'T. Many stores are heavily restocking wave 2 of the Black series (which includes this figure) and it will also be reshipped as part of wave 5 at the beginning of 2016, so you will likely get plenty of chances at it for a fair price and will end up kicking yourself for paying double for it now. That said, here is my objective review of it, speaking as a fairly knowledgeable collector of these things:It's a great looking figure, scaled appropriately, well-detailed, movie accurate, and well-articulated with 28 points of articulation. The cape is not soft goods, but sculpted, rubbery plastic, which actually seems like a good choice for this one, since t's hard to imagine it hanging the way the character wears it otherwise, and it's removable, but only if you pop the head off. The blaster is the only real accessory here, but it's a nice one, painted accurately in a light gold tone with black details. There's a little tab on the blaster which snaps into a slot on the right leg to holster it, similar to the first order stormtrooper figures, which is a nice touch.I only have two minor complaints about it: 1.) the silvery finish is just not shiny enough and Hasbro should have gone for an actual chrome-like finish and 2.) the pouch on the right leg, and the cape restrict movement quite a bit. However, if I had to chose between movement and aesthetics and accuracy, I'd choose the latter and that's what it seems like Hasbro has done here.Overall, this is a great figure for collectors, casual fans, or kids and if you have a shot at buying it at retail or below, you should definitely go for it.

This is WAY too cool to pass on!
Great Captain Phasma figure, I have no reason to complain about what I got, the price on the other hand...This is a nice representation of Captain Phasma. NO SPOILERS, Even after seeing the movie, I am glad I put my money into this. She is a great looking stormtrooper design. For me, the red striped cape is what sells the figure. I simply love it. On my figure, the paint is very sharp. The striped cape stands out well, and her helmet is very nicely painted. The lenses of her helmet came out very clean. I truly have nothing bad to say about this. People have complained about articulation limitations. Personally, I do not let that bother me. No matter what people say, this still offers a fair amount of movement, don't let that stop you. Her armor is not quite chrome, more on the silver side by far. It is still slightly reflective though. I believe that it looks better in person. She comes with a stormtrooper stocked rifle. This has a gold tinge to it and best of all, it can be securely plugged into her thigh for self storage. When compared to the average male First Order Stormtrooper, she is not only much taller than it, but she also has a very different body type. Her armor is visually better suited to fit the form of a woman. She has wider hips, a raised chest plate and narrow belly armor. I found these details to be slightly more noticeable on the 12'' scale Captain Phasma. This figure would make a great toy for older children. She is a very simple figure that seems to be suited for play. She does not seem like a fragile figure based on what I can see. Definitely buy one of these if you are a fan of stormtroopers. She would make a great addition for army building or a simple Star Wars collection. I hope I have helped you out. Thank you for reading my review!

Nice Figure with decent articulation and good paint apps (review of the figure, NOT the scalpers pricing)
So I almost passed on the chance to pick up this figure because of all of the one star reviews. I'm glad that I didn't because while I totally get that people are upset at the scalpers charging double the price, the figure itself is pretty nice and definitely doesn't deserve the bad rap it's currently getting. Shouldn't those negative reviews be for the sellers and NOT the figure itself??? If nothing else, once the figure gets a wider release, those people should go back and properly review the figure itself. And she looks good. The paint apps are clean, I love the fact that it's a new sculpt and not just a repaint of the First Order Stormtrooper, and it is evident in pretty much every aspect. Not only is she taller, but there are details all around that are different. The helmet is the most obvious, but the armor on the shins, feet, etc are totally different. I like the metallic sheen she has going, and while mine did come with some slight scuffing, it's hard to tell if that is a defect, or if was meant to be some battle wear. I also like the fact that however slight, her arms do seem to bend just slightly more, so she is able to wield her blaster in two hands a little better, unlike the First Order Stormtrooper (why didn't they just go with double hinges in the elbows, like the original trilogy Stromtrooper?!?).I think the only thing I'm not crazy about is the fact that they went with a plastic cape instead of a cloth one, but that is a minor nitpick of mine and really just personal preference. She's definitely worth picking up if you can find her for a decent price, so definite thumbs up for the figure at retail price. 4.5 out of 5 stars, so rounded up to 5.
