I got this game for my son, who is only 7, and LOVES PvZ. I asked him what he likes about this game and his first answer was the Citron character. He likes that he gets to run around in a neighborhood, which was new to this game. He likes the new characters, the missions, and collecting the stickers to get new characters to play. We got the PS+ account so he can go online and do multiplayer as well. I make sure that the sound of other players is turned off because he is a little guy and I don't want him to listen to inappropriate language. Mostly I find that it is other kids talking over the line. My guess is that adults are creating party lines to be able to talk to each other rather than bantering over the broadcast. The cartoon styling of the game makes it fun for the whole family. I have no problems letting my 7 year old play this game even though it is a shoot-em-up type of game. There is no translation to real life based on this cartoon world. I have to say that he plays it much better than I do, although that could be partly due to him rarely letting me get a chance to play so I get no practice!

Although it's only 2 player, we've had fun switching off and playing as a family. Some levels are more challenging than others, but it's even easy enough that our 5 year old is able to play independently. It catches the attention of older kids and adults through gameplay but is also still fun for younger kids.

After a couple weeks to see how the game settled in, I have to say it has more than met expectations. The recent balancing patch has made the game as great as the first. While I wish there was more maps, and perhaps some more dynamic objectives, the game is still great to pick up and play as the perfect casual but not-too casual multiplayer between the other big games I'm looking forward to. However, the game won't be for everyone. The pacing is slower than most other titles these days, and the horde mode Ops can get repetitive quite quickly. The local multiplayer options are limited to offline splitscreen with AI. The single player content is barely there, essentially a collection of missions in the hub world and multiplayer maps with some novelty mixed in. They're all very samey, and essentially act as nothing more than filler for a half dozen hours. I highly recommend renting a copy first to try out.

Better than the first game. Instead of a static menu, you are introduced to your own battle backyard where zombies and plants are constantly fighting. All exp, stars and coins earned here are counted. You can go ahead and explore, find chests to open, complete mini quests and more. This place will be your hub where you find a portal for multiplayer, garden/graveyard ops, infinity time, etc. You can also play split screen on the background and create a private match, or go to infinity time. There is the free update Trails of Gnomus which gives more depth to the game. Every week there's a new portal in the town hall that you can earn rainbow coins to unlock the chests for two new characters.

This game requires you to connect to EA servers that no longer work, even if you want to play offline. Meaning this game is worthless. Do not buy this, its a complete waste of money. Selling this game should be illegal because this game does not work anymore.

恋人とプレイしたくて購入しました。 女性である我々の動体視力でついていけるか心配でしたが、スピード感も規模もちょうどほどよく、楽しめてます。 最も懸念していた言語と話題ですが、 当方、中学生程度の英語までしかほぼほぼ読めない状態でも AIさんを駆使したり、知り得ている情報内でだいたいニュアンス取得で全体像の把握も容易かったです。 感覚的にはFortniteのSTWとOverWatchのあいのこみたいなゲーム性で懐かしさも覚えました。 もともと無印から知り、ヒーローズのROSEが特段好きだったのですが 変わらず知識に富んだキャラクターデザイン（美化されすぎず、ちゃんと植物とゾンビであるところ）のセンスや音楽も可憐で最高です。 芸術と園芸に昔以上に勤しむようになりはじめ、より一層のことpvzシリーズ開発陣の植物愛に感激しました。 出会えて良かった！
