At first I was not impressed. I applied the cream, in what seemed generous, but not heavy, and waited. The smell is all Menthol unpleasant, butI felt a bit of help. Although I really don't like the Menthol odor, I tried it again. Same results. I thought to myself, if this much I smear on helps abit, what if I doubled or tripled the application. WOW, what sweet relief. Smelled of Menthol all night long, but the ache in my shoulders was gone.Now, if you need to apply some during the day, I suggest a garment that can keep the Menthol odor in, or someone is likely to pinch their nose asyou go by. Velatrin does work though, and I found it helps me get some sleep, and I now can sleep on my sides without the ache in my shoulders.

I have had joint pain in elbows, ankles, and hands for decades. This product reduces the pain and the swelling in these joints. The only drawback is a pronounced, but pleasant, smell that reminds me of both camphor and wintergreen. The odor dissipates in about half an hour. Thanks for providing something that really works. So many other products don't.

The search for an affordable 4 oz arnica cream continues.. I've tried many of the creams available on Amazon and at the store. while this does have arnica in it, it's not enough. you get what you pay for. instead it has " the medicine" as some uneducated like to call it here in the reviews. camphor, menthol, and other tingly, burning gimmicks are not "medicine". This cream has a ton of the icy-hot methyl salicylate in which really has no effect on inflammation. methyl salicylate is a gimmick. look elsewhere for an arnica cream. also, don't put it on your back if you have dry skin! too much gimmick icy hot in this stuff. hope this review helps!

I was expecting more of an Arnica cream. This is like, SMELL and feel, like BenGay. I prob will not be using it. If there any out there without the strong smell I would love it.

The odor was strong.Not bad, just strong. It made my eyes tear. I put it on my carpel tunnel areas, then aqwardly tried to wash my hands, not remove the product. If this topical ointment reaches your eyes, it will not feel good.Beware. Plus I think it helped the pain a little, just not nearly what would be welcome. I massaged it in very well. It left a slightly greasey feelIng on my skin. Better use for knees and back. Just wash your hands a longer time until you know the product is off.

This pain relief cream does work. I have tried other brands to no success but Velatrin does the job. After rubbing some cream on it seems to warm the area it was applied to and the pain begins to subside. Seems to last about 5 to 6 hours and the sore area begins to bother you again. So it is a great relief cream and not a cure to what ails you.

I had car accident many years ago and I had to get shoulder surgery. Since then I alway have pain but most of time that am setting too long at work my neck and shoulder gets real stiff and major pain. I tried many different product but nothing work as good this product, it has little burning sensation but works great. I strongly recommend this to anyone with any kind of pain 👌🏻

Has 10% less menthol and 0% camphor like Ben Gay. Doesn't have any camphor like Ben Gay. Basically you can get the Walmart brand of muscle rub w/a higher concentration of pain relief and MUCH less expensive. Wish I would have really checked the ingredient list before spending $19 on this. It probably will give you relief but at a much higher cost than other brands that have the same medicine, or better, in them.
