This is a very good product. I don't use it to its fullest (I have only a 100' hose), but it's make the task of using the hose often, for small jobs, incredibly easy. Finishing the job is so easy with the "Slide-Trak Hose Guide", it coils the hose properly when I turn the crank as fast as I can.The storage compartment is convenient. I ordered it with the storage compartment because it has a shorter lead time for delivery. The swivel base is a little clunky: you have to apply a fair amount of force to make it "unlock". I find it just as easy to rotate the entire reel while leaving the swivel locked.Highly recommended!

I bought this in December of 2018. It is now January 2022 and it is still a workhorse! Unfortunately, I have to leave it outside all winter but it remains sturdy and usable. I wasn't really sure if it was going to be ok for my 100', 3/4" Heavy-duty Hose, but it handles it like a champ. Our winter temps get below 0 at times so I was concerned about cracking, but there is not even a hint of failure. I think it would be much preferred to bring it in during the winter months, but we just don't have that option. I am on a fixed income and getting one for the backyard is not in the budget, but maybe someday! Rolling the hose up is a piece of cake once the watering is done. This is the hose reel to have!

Good hose reel that turns easily. Like the storage space at the top for nozzles and whatever else.

This is my second purchase of a Suncast SSB200B Swivel Hose Hideaway. My first was a number of years ago at a COSTCO warehouse and I still have it behind my home, new one is in front of home next to garages. It is a great buy for the money and quality wise it holds up very well. I like the fact it is taller than most hose reels I've seen and fully protects the hose from Sun damage and weather. Reeling in hose is very easy and never any jamming, very smooth operation. Unit design presents itself well in both home locations. I plan on purchasing one more for my inground pool area next, simply to eliminate dragging hoses over fences.Buy one, you won't go wrong.......

I purchased one of these years ago when they first came on the market from the local Lowes. Worked great and loved the hose guide and the covered bin to store some tools. When it finally gave out I looked everywhere for it and ended up here at Amazon, where I knew I would find it at the best price around and have always found Amazon's customer service top notch.However, the same cannot be said for Suncast. Immediately I could see the quality had gone down hill over the years, cheaper and thinner plastic, rickety even. But my husband and I hooked it up anyhow only to find that it leaked. Not at our hookups but inside the reel, not to be fixed. Had Amazon come and get it the next day for a full refund. Thank you Amazon for being such a great company.Have read countless reviews on hose reels and they all seem to have issues. If anyone knows of a decent hose reel for a decent price please let me know.

We bought one of these hose reels for our home in Nevada, and it works quite well. So we bought one more for the other side of the house. The reel works well, nothing leaks, and it does what it is supposed to do.We have massive wind storms here, and were worried about it blowing over - no problem with the weight of the hose. However the wind does catch the lid of the storage compartment, so rather than putting a heavy rock on it, we have installed a simple hoot and eye, screwed into the plastic, with a metal washer on the inside so the plastic will not break through. Keeps the lid down in the wind. A bit pricey, but you get what you pay for.

This is a nice storage solution for a garden hose if you want to store small items along with it. (I currently keep a multifunction sprayer head and a rotary sprinkler in the storage tray when they are not in use.)Unfortunately the in tube (water inlet connector) is poorly attached to the side wall of the box, with the two tabs shown in the left hand photo inserted in the slots you can see in the center picture. This piece popped off under normal water pressure and refused to stay on when reinserted. A small piece was probably broken off. I couldn't find it, but since the unit was sitting on a grassy surface, a small black piece of plastic would be really hard to find.This occurred 5 days after the cutoff date to return the unit via Amazon. The manufacturer refused to replace, claiming that the Amazon market seller was "not an authorized retailer of Suncast products." They would, of course sell a replacement part, but with no guarantee that the same thing would not recur.Fortunately, I was able to repair the existing unit by constructing brackets from a bendable metal strip (right hand photo). This cost $4.17 for 2 strips, 2 bolts, 2 flat washers, and 2 nuts + 15 minutes' time (not including trip to local hardware store.) The washers are on the inside of the box to prevent the brackets from breaking the plastic wall. (The blue Orbit timer in the photo is coincidental. You could attach a hose directly to the unit instead.)This has been working for a week, and should be a permanent fix. If you don't mind doing this if yours should fail, I would recommend buying this product, but if you're not willing to put in a few minutes' effort, you might want to choose a different model.I suggested to Suncast that they correct this weakness in future models. This is not rocket science!

Bought this for my hose after my daughter sledgehammered the last hose reel cart, because hose got tangled up. (Really, true story!) This is big enough for my 50 foot hose. It has the guide that the hose winds back up into. The top lifts off for a little storage area, and the base swivels, great for mobility. All in all, this is worth the money. It is heavy duty, fits nice on the side of house, and best of all, my daughter can even wind it back up without cussing! So, spend the extra money, and get something that will last.

Works super and has eliminated a tedious and dirty job gathering up the hose - -the wife thinks it's great.

I purchased a 2nd one of these because my first one in the garage has been performing wonderfully for at least 5 years. The one I had for my back yard was not heavy enough so that when you reeled in the hose it would move all over and you had to apply foot pressure for it to stay in place. Very inconvenient, so I got another one of these and it's great. Lots of room to store hose accessories and it swivels in the direction that you want it. It reels back up perfectly every time. Love it.Gee
