Metal Earth Batman Classic Batmobile 1966 3D Metal Model Kit Fascinations

Another great Metal Earth build pulled straight from my childhood. This build was so fun it inspired me to rewatch the Clarice series

The difficulty level of this model is listed as "Challenging", and that is an accurate description. You must have several metal earth model builds under your belt before attempting to build this one. There are not really a lot of parts to this model as compared to other metal earth kits, but what makes this one challenging are the various bends and folds which need to be made with precision. Parts should be test fitted as much as possible before committing to the final assembly. Patience and attention to detail will reward you with a very nice replica of the classic TV version of the batmobile.

The car looks nice but can be a pain to assemble. I'd say first have some experience with other Metal Earth models. I've done three of these now and my pointers would be to do parts 2 & 3 after 14 & 15 just so they aren't in the way and you accidentally bump them after install. Take your time shaping the canopy. The center strip of piece 12 is longer than necessary which results in an excessive hump where the light is. Curve the piece front to back as best you can and then do the windows. Be very careful with piece 28 as it has an unnecessary perforation across it that makes the piece very fragile. Try not to bend it there while working with the sides or it will break in half. If that happens at least they give you an extra. Finally, mating the body to the chassis can be very difficult at the front corners. To help with this make sure piece 1 is sufficiently curved down in that area otherwise you will have to manhandle the car to fit the pieces together. It's a nice model but takes some time to build.

I have built approx. 10 metal earth models, and I would say this one is almost as difficult as Ironman, and in fact took me longer to build than Ironman. It is a very beautiful model once its finished. Attaching the sides to the body and then the chassis were the hardest parts - lost of things to line up and bend tabs at the same time. I think the windshield was the hardest part to shape accurately. Overall a great looking model once finished.

Definitely challenging! I have completed close to 30 different Metal Earth kits, and this was nowhere near the most difficult--but there were a few steps that really required patience. Also while there's nothing technically wrong with the instructions, looking at 2-D plans for a 3-D model occasionally got confusing. Would suggest watching a YouTuber build this one if you want it to be perfect...

This is the absolute worst thing in the entire world! Absolutely impossible to build! I wanted to throw it away multiple times. I wasted two hours of my life trying to make this. I can't believe that I literally wasted my money on this. I just had surgery and figured I would do something fun. This has me enraged! I would love for the company to explain how this is done. I collect everything Batmobiles and this has me so mad. I am literally bleeding from getting sliced with the metal from this product. Please do not waste your money. It does not work!
