What’s the point of the bendable arm if it breaks when you bend it?
This thing is a poorly made piece of junk. It feels solid, but when I was installing it, it broke near the bottom. No problem, I returned it and got another one. Thinking I was clever, I took the rod out of the bottom bracket to bend it and then put everything back together. When I was tightening the set screws, it broke in the exact same place as the first one.Bottom line is that there is a strong metal bracket and a strong metal rod joined by a flimsy piece of plastic. As soon as it gets any pressure applied, it snaps. This phone holder is probably great as long as you want to leave the bendable rod straight, but then, what’s the point of the bendable rod?

Best Option Out There! Love!
Best car cell phone holder EVER! Looks like a part of my car’s hardware almost. Attaches in an inconspicuous way. Within arms reach if you need to adjust the angle due to sun glare. Let me give you an idea of what options I had to go through before I found this gem:I had a vent mounted cell phone holder and that scratched the hell out of my brand new car’s vent- that kind of pissed me off. I had a dash mounted phone holder but you can’t wirelessly charge your phone with the hardware required on the back of the phone unless you take it out of the protective case, which I didn’t want to do. Now I have this metallic ball that used to magnetically attach to the back of my phone hardware just chillin on my dash waiting for a 100 degree day to scrape that off. I tried the windshield mounted holder and it messed with my rear view mirror maneuverability. Now I have this ridiculous residual adhesive left on the upper part of my windshield that I can’t get off...maybe later.

First Impression Good
Initial Impressions is it feels well built. The only thing I worry about lasting is the actual phone mount which feels a bit plasticy for my taste. The bar that is contained within the neck is just a piece of galvanized steel being held in place by locking bolts. If needed one could easily replace this bar with a longer or shorter one. With it being a bar, you'll only be able to bend it so many times before the metal becomes weak and breaks. Again no big deal since it would be easy to replace. The phone mount holds the phone well and the release releases easily. However these parts all feel like plastic and feel like they may not last more than a couple years at best if used often and gently. Fixability of the phone mount remains to be seen, it does have screws on the rear and may be possible to fix.Once I've used this for a few months, I'll update this review.

Sturdy and good buy
I really like this but it also annoys me at the same time. Maybe it's just me. I bought this because there are no good mounting spots in my car that aren't either bad position or not strong enough. Something like this is perfect. It is sturdy. It is easily adjustable. It holds my phone and still works like brand new and it's been almost a year. What annoys me is the shaking. You're driving and of course the car is always moving and this thing is not shaking so bad, it's mostly the vibration. When I look at my phone sometimes I can't even tell what it says.I will say that I only attached it via the seat bolt. I haven't felt good about drilling a hole into the console area, yet. I'm probably going to do that though. The included hardware included a strap to secure the stem. That'd keep it from moving. It's nice they added that.

A great phone holder.
This is the second phone holder I purchased (both are the same). I have one installed in my pickup truck and one in my Audi. They work great, stay put, and hold the phone in the perfect position for me. It prevents me from having to shove the phone into the cupholder or some other spot not designed for the phone. The shaft is very stiff and stays put. I used this with my iPhone 5 as well as my new iPhone 7 plus. This holder works great with both devices. No matter what terrain I go over, the phone stays put without having to clamp it in. If I had another car, I would oder another one of these holders.Installation is relatively easy. In my pickup it took about 5 minutes since the bolt was "standard". The Audi required me to purchase a special tool to loosen the seat rail bolt. Both are working perfectly.

Better than anticipated!
Everything was included to ensure a good installation. I was fortunate that I had 2 console screws for which I was able to screw this mount into, I managed to screw this into the closest screw to the gearshift which was on the passenger side. I could have screwed this into the floor bolt that is part of the passenger or driver seat, however if the seat is adjusted, it will scrape against the mount. Since I have leather seats, I didn't want to mount it where it may cause friction or tear my seat. The holder does shake a bit while driving. But, if you screw it in tightly, the vibrations of the holder are acceptable. It would be unrealistic to think that this holder will not shake somewhat while driving, especially on poorly constructed roads. In short, this is a ,much better alternative than the dash mounted which will bake your $1000 phone, or the vent mount which just blocks your airflow when you would really enjoy it. This holder is out of the way to not interfere with the driver or passenger and while allowing easy access to your phone and navigation app while on road trips.Don't bend the shaft too much too many times, and I am sure that you will enjoy this!

Release mechanism shoddy, unit wobbles
Pros: Unit has a solid grip on my iPhone 6. It was easy to install, and flexible rod seems to hold its shape well. Phone placement is convenient, even on my Kia Soul, which has a higher riding console area than most cars.Cons: Each time I press the release button n the lower right corner, I am greeted with internal high tension spring action, which in my experience is never a good thing with plastic. One can almost hear the sound of the plastic cradle deteriorating on each release. Sometimes the phone falls completely off when the release is pressed. I would prefer instead another car mount that has a governed/slower release for these reasons. Also, the unit does vibrate when traveling on the highway. So far, I have been able to see the screen, but I wonder how much worse the vibration will get as this car mount ages,
