Is it good for striped bass ?

Works great for stripers in california fresh water and large mouth bass. Cought both within 10 cast of each other.

do these work for rainbow trout? and if so, any particular colors. Thanks

smaller size #4 & #6 are good for trout--- trout color, olive green & black and silver are my favorite colors for trout.

How do you fish this bait a steady reel?

You can do both. A steady reel or a quick jerk short reel and stop and repeat Fish are not reliable try different things until you get a strike. then use that pattern. Different times of the year (ie water temp) fish act differently. If one thing would work all the time there would no professional fisherman. Bob.

How long is the lure?

Depends on what you want. They come in several sizes from about 2" up to about 5 or 6". I like the x-10 which is about 3 1/2" for pike and bass. Good luck.

Great jerkbait that catches fish.

This bait is well balanced and the erratic motion produced on the twitch just draws strikes. It works with both a slow stop and go or a quick twitching retrieve. It has also produced while trolling as well. It produced a large variety of fish as well. It has caught largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, northern pike, white perch, yellow perch, bluegill, walleye, chain pickerel and also pumpkin seed. We have many other species in our lake as well and I expect this lure will draw them as well. Recommend having at least one of these on your box. For our lake gold/black and the above perch pattern have been the big producers.
