Perfect for intended purpose.
After a lot of experimentation with constantly having to adjust time switches or installing unsightly photocell units, this product was the answer to these problems in a number of cases where the Client needed low level over-night Security lighting by upgrading the existing ornate fixtures with these lamps. They work by adjusting the light level they produce depending on the ambient light level around them, so they slowly come on as dusk turns to night, slowly dimming and turning off again as dawn proceeds.I've seen a number of negative reviews relating to these not dimming as expected. I'm guessing this is because there maybe two different versions of these lamps; a "sensor" version as described here and a "Switch Dimmable" version that is likely a separate product. All in all, the lamps I purchased perfectly suit the function they were intended for.
