I bought this product to record some sound levels in an around my home. Primarily I wanted to know how much noise my generator was producing to see if I needed to take measures to build a sound box for it. This device helped me measure things accurately and determine it wasn't nearly as loud as I thought it was. Next time I'll turn my hearing aids down a little :) I also used it to measure the ambient background in the neighborhood and I realized a lot of the sound I hear is coming from a highway about 3/4 of a mile away. Not much to be done about it but at least I know what it is.

As a former communication / navigation technician in the military. Even in my civilian audio interests, I still need good quality test equipment for pleasing those who may seek my expertise. This device will help me to tune-up my projects to display my skills.

There were two features that caused me to order the his unit. Certifications and remote monitoring. It's a really nice unit and seems easy enough to operate, but I was looking for something I could monitor sound levels from a distance. Someone had answered that it had that capability so I ordered it. There appears to be a space on the side for a missing feature that it blanked off so maybe they did have it previously. Having received approval to return it I am now considering keeping it. It is a nice unit and with documented testing and calibration capability it is nice, but haven't really used it enough to say much about long term use. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is it doesn't have one feature I was looking for.

Serves its purpose. We have to conduct an ambient noise test in my workplace. Delivery was fast and the product work as intended. Easy to use.

This device is more expensive than some others, but it is more accurate and came with a calibration certificate. I have another (much) more expensive sound meter that had nearly identical readings across a wide range of frequencies and sound levels. Good instrument.

Worked well for calibrating levels on my receiver. Its made in Taiwan and not China. The quality seems to be okay. So far it has been repeatable but Ive only used it twice.

I bought this with the thought of capturing rifle muzzle decibels but it doesn’t register the decibels that a rifle puts out. It works fork loud work environment but not what I was looking for
