It is an excellent cutter as well
As a professional electronics tech for 25+ years, and an engineer for 15 more, I've used a lot of different diagonal cutters, and a lot of LIndstrom cutters over the years. They've always impressed me with the quality of their tools. This cutter seems to fit the same pattern. When the price dropped recently to near $25, I just had to bite and pick up another pair. I'm used to paying closer to $50 for a pair of these, or for a pair of Erem cutters. These are now my "good" cutters, the sort I don't loan out. My second-line cutters are the Xcelite MS54V. I've used that model cutter for years as well, and always have one in my toolbox. It is an excellent cutter as well, but not as refined or precise as the Lindstrom or Erem cutters. If you like and appreciate the finer things in tools, I can recommend this Lindstrom, and you could look at the Erems. If "professional quality" is enough, then I would go with the Xcelite cutter in this size range. I've been disappointed by a lot of other diagonal cutters over the years, with poor jaw alignment, bulky cutting heads, breaking return springs, and soft or weak cutting edges. The three mentioned here have always done their job admirably. Keep in mind that this is a small precision cutter, not designed to cut steel coat hangers, and it should last you for decades.

whole jaw or tip or tip of jaw breaks off
have owned 2 pairs of these cutters, a 8141 and these 8140's; used mainly for circuit board work or cutting nylon or plastic tie-wraps. 1st pair broke the whole side of one jaw off; 2nd pair broke the tip of one jaw off:cannot recommend; going with KNIxxx, the german stuff: never had problems with any of their tools, and they don't cost much more, if anything above these, and can't keep getting let down by tool failure

Of course having said that I still liked them enough to keep them
They work very well but mine have kind of a click when you squeeze them tightly. They cut well but then the jaw will click just a bit as it shifts off center *after* cutting. For the price I think they ought to work perfectly. Of course having said that I still liked them enough to keep them, as trying to swap them out seemed like a bigger hassle than it was worth. I may have just gotten a marginal pair.

Fantastic Cutters
I worked in electronics assembly in the 80's and became acquainted with Lindstrom cutters at that time. In fact, I bought a pair and used them in many hobby and craft applications since that time. I was really sad when, after a couple decades of use, I broke my pair of cutters.I was able to find the exact same model being offered, and at nearly half the price of the typical "electronics tool supply houses", so I bought this in a heartbeat. So far, I have been very satisfied with their quality and functionality.
