Great product and support
I generally don't write product reviews, but given the price point and service I received, I felt it would be helpful for anyone considering buying a Tile Redi shower pan. Purchasing a prefabricated pan you can tile has some benefits over making your own, but there a few important things to consider:1) This product is a lot more suitable for an installation where you have the ability to move the drain/plumbing. In my case I installed it upstairs with a wood subfloor and had to relocate the drain. Once relocated, I did a dry fit to make sure it was spot on. If not, ABS glue dries fast and can definitely cause issues if your drain isn't lined up precisely.2) The shower pan has to be set in a bed of mortar, which generally isn't that big of a deal. The issue I experienced is "rocking" the shower pan back and forth to set it in place on a bed of mortar with air trapped under the pan itself. I eventually got it set in place, but the timing is limited and there's zero room for error to get it level and the drain set in place. It got it done but definitely felt the stress trying to get it set in place before the glue dried.3) Tiling the pan requires an epoxy mortar which is supplied by the seller. I mixed according to specs, and used the specified trowel size, but I was lucky to get 15 SF of coverage vs the 25 to 30 SF noted in the specs provided by the seller. There have been other reviews indicating they had plenty of epoxy mortar, so I'm not 100% sure why I only got 15 SF. I bought the larger 60X42 pan, so that might have been the reason I came up short. In any event, the seller was extremely helpful and friendly. I explained my situation, and they were very responsive and friendly. They sent me another shipment of epoxy mortar at no charge so I could finish tiling the pan. My understanding from reading the instructions are that you have to use the Tile Redi epoxy mortar, so there are no other alternatives. Looking on Amazon the cost is around $50 per mixture.4) Last and just a side note, the epoxy mortar isn't easy to work with, but it is very effective. Once it is dry, the tile isn't going anywhere. It dries pretty quick so make sure you have all your pieces pre-cut and ready to set in place. I read this on a review prior to purchasing, and it was 100% accurate and made the tile installation go a lot smoother.Overall, I am very happy with my purchase subject to the comments above.

Excellent Value
We had no difficulty installing this system in a slab on grade application. Layout is critical and you must follow the instructions. In a slab on grade installation getting the 2" PVC drain in the precise location with vertical alignment is the critical step. In these photos you can see how we allowed for some lateral adjustment of the 2" pipe during installation. We had a 3/8" long piece of rebar and simply stuck that inside the pipe to cause it move slightly into the female receiver on the shower base.As with many of these things you will spend more time in preparation and layout than you will actually doing the installation. We should point out that the way they explain the underlying mortar bed that you set this into is less than clear. We determined a workable depth and perimeter for our application and spent a lot of time making sure the business end of this system (trench drain end) was firmly bedded. We in fact laid 5 boxes of tile to create a lot of dead load at that point while everything set overnight. We followed the next day with Mapei Self Leveling Cement on the rest of the bathroom floor and any gaps that still existed at the shower base interface were filled by the self leveling cement. We installed the mosaic floor system next using the 3 part Redi-Poxy they provided with the shower base. Although it is a catalyzed epoxy it is also a water clean up so be thankful for that.We do want to suggest when grouting your tile over this base and having used the epoxy adhesive that you may not want to use sanded grout. You may want to look into using an unsanded or even a 3 part epoxy grout over this system. We will do that for sure on our next installation. The photos we have provided show the steps we described all the way through completion. We tried this Tile-Redi system after using that very expensive orange colored system, and we must say that this system saved us time and money. We are very happy with the result and will definitely use Tile-Redi on our next project.

I did it! But lining up that drain and getting glue in there is a work out!
Having never installed one of these before, I'm sure there are quite a few techniques that would have helped with my only negative thoughts on this shower pan... And honestly, I can't think of a way they could do it any better.I installed exactly like the manual instructed, which wound up being a 1.75' mortar bed. Getting this thing down and glued in was a nightmare. This may just be an issue with pans that have the drain already in them but sheesh... Got it done but I do not want to do that every again!

Awesome! Must for second floor shower!
This is a fool proof product that is a must for any standard size shower, especially for a second floor bathroom! Make sure your tile installer pays attention to the drain when setting the tile! Really an awesome product!

JUST TRASH FLASHING METAL!!!!
I have been working in the Bath and Kitchen remodel business for over 24 yrs. Decided to complete a full master renovation while out of work. Everything thing was just as advertised and expected with the price, although there is a serious installation flaw. They provide in your shower kit, a flashing material which is to be installed over the base and caulked behind cement boards. There becomes a serious problem when you install as per instructions, when it pushed out the bottom of your tile. This causes a bridging issue on your first course as it won’t install tightly or tight fitting at corner transitions. The design needs to be reconsidered, so prior to this change.” JUST TRASH THE METAL FLASHING AND CAULK BETWEEN,” then coat with a waterproof membrane coating with fabric. This will give you a much more satisfying outcome with you tile work.Hope this helps,
