My Reading Life: A Book Journal

GREAT CONCEPT---way too tiny in actual size and size of print
well....I so wanted to love this. I've looked for years for a reading journal I could and would actually use. I read a lot of books....all different genres, and in all different formats. I would love to have a usable journal. This is just way too small. I should have read the reviews more closely, but I so wanted it. It looked perfect from the description and pictures. But it just isn't usable for me.I'm hoping she may publish a PDF version or even a looseleaf printed version that could be added to--not really sure what the best solution is, but, for me, it definitely needs to be a lot bigger! Damn!

Wonderful journal!
I really love how she set up this journal with all the reading suggestions and the color-coded pages. Everything is really well done. The only thing I would suggest for next time is making the journal a little bigger for older people. It’s a little too small, and I’d like more room for writing book reviews. Maybe a little larger than an A5 journal would be great.

Great Concept - Too Small
I read about this journal in one of Anne Bogel's blog posts before it was published and was very excited by the concept. I've received it and overall like how it's organized. It has several suggested reading lists. It also has a before and after section with writing prompts to help reflect on one's reading interests after a year of tracking the books read. However, it's way - way too small! Unless you print very tiny, you're lucky if you can enter two short sentences under "thoughts and impressions" about a book. Even handwriting this short review is too long for that section. I'd like to see a larger size (8.5" x 11") or a digital format that takes this into account.

Brings me Joy
"My Reading Life" is designed for readers. The design allows us to track our "To Be Read" books, the books that we have completed, favorite quotes from books, favorite books and books you have borrowed or loaned. There are other prompts and questions to help you determine what kind of reader you are, what books most appeal to you, and where things are today in terms of your reading life. I have always wanted to be a person who kept a journal and have never quite succeeded at that long term. I think that "My Reading Life" is going to help change that. I love books and I love writing about books, keeping lists of books and tracking my books.Anne Bogel has developed a resource that has truly brought more joy into my life. The only thing I might change is to somehow put the book together so that pages could be added. I am going to run out of room in some of the categories.

My new favorite!
This is the cutest book journal! As Sarah Mackenzie (from Read Aloud Revival) says, it has everything you could ever want in a book journal!Spaces for thoughts, quotes, and to whom you would recommend the book. I love it!I’m going to buy one for a friend!

Just What I Needed!
I've been using this since the start of the new year (so a little over a month) and I love it! I particularly love the daily reading tracker and the actual book log pages, to detail the books I am reading. It is set up in such a helpful way, and while it is small, I actually prefer it that way! This journal has helped keep me motivated to get through my TBR list by tracking my progress! I would definitely recommend to any and all book lovers!

Amazing Reading Journal
I just received my book journal in the mail yesterday and am so thrilled. Not only is it a wonderful way to keep track of what you have read and what you would like to read, but it contains excellent reading advice and spot-on reading recommendations! Anne Bogel knows books and reading and she knows the proper way to construct a book journal. May only complaint is that she did not make these available 50 years ago!!!

Great idea for a journal, but way too small!
I was so excited to get this book because I follow Anne Bogel and her podcast, what should I read next? Unfortunately, this journal is a disappointment because of its size. I find myself cramming tiny words on the page to try to get my thoughts down. Otherwise, I love the format. I do hope that it comes out in a larger version sometime soon.
