Haoge 140mm Camera Quick Release Plate specifically Designed for CARTONI Focus 8S, Focus HD, e-Focus, Lambda 10, Spinhead Tripod Fluid Video Head

I looked and looked and looked for an extra camera plate for the Cartoni Focus 10 fluid head. B&H and Adorama shows one listed on their websites but it's not always available and it's $104 which is way over priced. I attempted to contact Cartoni directly but never got a response. This plate works perfectly!

Ordered as a spare for my Cartoni Focus 10 even though it wasn't listed as a comparable head. The Cartoni website indicated that the Focus HD and the Focus 10 have the same plate size so I figured it was worth a shot. It works! It fits a bit looser than my stock Cartoni plate but I was able to tighten the locking mechanism (a Phillips screw under the lever) and now it fits snugly, and my Cartoni plate works fine with the tighter fit as well. It's a bit longer than the stock plate (by about 1/2-3/4") which is nice.Overall good quality for $40. I have another Haoge item (tripod collar for a Canon 70-200mm f/4) and have found both items to be of adequate quality. Of similar quality to SmallRig and Camvate products.Why 4 stars? The metal is decent but definitely softer than the stock Cartoni plate and the paint seems to scratch easily. It came with a tiny nick in the paint and I'd imagine it will scratch up quickly with use. The marking numbers are nice but I'm not sure how long they'll last. The rubber on top seems solid but it may come off after prolonged exposure to high clamping pressure. I love that they included two additional mounting holes, but why are they facing down? Why would you want to mount something underneath your tripod plate? Might be for compatability with some other tripod system, but for my use, they would be much more useful if the recessed divots on the two mounting holes were on the underside so I could mount them to my rig or lens collar.I just received it, so time will tell its durability, but I would not hesitate to purchase this as a low-cost spare plate for the Cartoni Focus 10, mainly for use with lower-weight cameras and rigs. If your camera is close to the max load capacity of the Focus 10 or if you expect the plate to be subjected to prolonged rugged use, I'd get the Cartoni plate as it's certainly built better. Even so, I still might get another of these.

Perfect - and soooooo much less expensive than the Cartoni equivalent!

Does exactly as advertised, works with my Cartoni Focus 8 fluid head. Cheaper than the official one, but just as good or better.
