Rock solid under load
I'm driving three monitors through a USB hub/dock, one of them a "2k" monitor at 2560x1600 (Dell U3011). Because of a limitation in the laptop, the hub would only render the 2k monitor in 1080p. For the adapter, I wanted to use DisplayPort because my (older) monitor only supported higher resolution on DisplayPort or DVI, and the DVI is occupied. The adapter came through with flying colors! I plugged it into the USB 3.0 port on the USB hub, hooked it up, and the resolution was there immediately. No jumping over hoops. I already had a DisplayLink 10 driver on my system and it worked immediately with the adapter. The key issue I was concerned about was how the adapter would work under load -- would it still perform while I'm running video sessions and/or sharing my screen? Would it get unstable as the heat built up over an hour or more? While the unit warmed up under use, it never got hot and the performance was rock solid.I've had this for less than a week, but I'm very happy with this initial experience.

Made it easy to add a monitor to overcome graphic card limitations
Got a new PC with an NVidia card in it. I was using 5 monitors before this and had no idea Nvidia has a hard limit of 4 monitors (no matter the resolution). This unit was perfect as I use a 5th monitor, in portrait mode, for emails...so a high refresh rate wasn't necessary. Problem solved, no issues with the drivers (Windows 11) and I'm super happy here.

It works!
I tried another (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B088825188/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and it was absolutely worthless and would not work properly or for any length of time. I emailed Cable Matters (yes they do have customer service) and they pointed me in the right direction for my computer system & setup. Have used it for a few weeks now without any problem. The monitor is adjustable through the Windows setup, it will go into sleep & awake (both of which the other would not do), and was easy to setup (plug & play). I would highly recommend spending the extra few dollars and purchase this over one of the alternate pieces of trash.

work pretty reliably, so far (a few days)
works better than converting from vga for sure.since I use with kvm, I still have turn monitor off/on switch to get recognition, when switching back to this computer with adapter. Otherwise so far works fine after first few days. Hopefully it lasts.

Good, depending on what you need it for. Not ideal for graphics on Macs.
This review is specifically for the DisplayPort to USB 3.0 4k adapter, for use on a Macbook Air, 8gb Ram, Early 2015 13" running El Capitan (The driver from DisplayLink apparently goes up to Sierra, but there are issues for all mac OS)The adapter works, but there are some issues:1. You can't color calibrate the connected monitor in system preferences at all using this adapter, so if perfect colors are important to you, this isn't going to work. This also means f.lux will not work, though they are working on a fix, but for windows only at the moment.2. Refresh rate is not perfect. Mouse movement is pretty choppy, though I was surprised with how well it handled video. If you are using this to connect a random monitor to look at text, it's probably a good fit, but for any graphic intensive stuff I would not recommend this adapter. It seems like DisplayLink is working on the issues for Mac, but if you're looking for a 1:1 comparison to a true displayport set up you will be disappointed.

The only way works for 3rd Apple LED Cinema Display 27"
I have three 27" monitors connected to macmini and I've been trying to find an adapter that could make my 3rd monitor, Apple LED Cinema Display 27", works as it should. I have tried so many different adapters, and only this one + CABLEDECONN Mini DP to DisplayPort 8K Cable 8K Adapter finally works on connection without having Image Retention aka burn-in effect at 2560 x1440 60hz setting. I specifically install "DisplayLink USB Graphics Software for macOS5.2.6-EXE" only it can make this setup works. But there is a downside to using this setup, the color will be slightly cooler than the direct Thunderbolt connection even I use color correctors a few times and ran a couple of different dates but still won't work. So designers need to be aware but other than that I'm very happy the solution.

Worked with mac external monitors
I tried most of the cables to connect my Mac to external monitors. This was the only hope. I tried this worked like a charm. Amazing. But felt like prize is higher.
