Convenient and easy to use - accurate internal temperature
I bought this MeatStick set as an early Christmas present to myself. My first impressions when opening it, the case it comes with is nice. It looks like there are some empty slots if you purchase more MeatSticks. It comes with 2 thermometers. One has a completely black end and the other is black with 2 red rings around it so you can tell them apart (see pictures). When I had to charge it, I was surprised to see that it needed AA batteries to charge the thermometer instead of using a plug in USB cable. I ended up using some rechargeable AA batteries for this. At first I was annoyed at this setup but then I realized when you start a cook, you need to have the meatstick in the charger, hit the button, and then take it out of the charger to initialize it for a cook. So if you're outside preparing to do a long smoke and you're about to put the thermometer in, having the charger attached to an outlet and then going to fetch the thermometer from there is really inconvenient compared to a completely mobile charger.Setting up the wifi bridge was a breeze - the only thing I had to do was pick the wifi network to join, which was nice that the app actually asked. I use a separate network for my smart devices (just for that extra layer of separation). Other smart devices I've set up in the past just use whatever wifi network your phone was connected to without asking. I had no issues at all with the range no matter where I was in my house since I was using the wifi bridge.I cooked ribeye steak 2 different times to make sure both sticks were working. I'm not sure how accurate the ambient temperature sensor is but the internal temperature is definitely accurate as it matched up to what my thermapen was telling me. I usually use my cast iron for steaks but this time around I opted to do reverse sears in my Matfer carbon steel pan. Since I have a toddler running around touching everything he can, this wireless thermometer was great in that I wouldn't have to open the oven to check the consistency of the steak and there were no wires for my little guy to pull. At 125 degrees internal temperature, I took the steaks out of the oven and put it on the stove top to sear it and baste it.All in all, really simple to use. No issues as of yet. Will try on something with a longer cook time next time around as reverse searing takes less than an hour.

Temperature
This remote temperature sensor was a gift. It does a great job of monitoring the internal temperature of meats and poultry. It will be used on a regular basis.

Great concept, terrible execution.
Let me start off by saying this is a great concept IF the product worked as marketed. I'm a tech person, the app is super buggy and the Bluetooth connections are sub par, probes do not like to connect or stay connected even with the wireless extension. Gave it a shot on 2 cooks, both low temp under 275. Both times it took 30+ minutes to get the probes to actually show up on the app to start a cook. Both times I actually deleted the app and reinstalled to get the probe to show up.1st cook. After charging the probes for 12 hours, went to update firmware. 30 minutes of troubleshooting connection issues I got the large probe ready for a tri tip in the oven at 275. 1st off the bat ambient readings were at 300+ which was odd. Pulled the meat at 125 and got ready to sear. Just checking with the thermoworks pen which is very accurate. It probed 115, meh 10 degrees I'll let it slide. Let it hang out in the oven a bit longer and then seared.Cook 2.I did a wagyu Brisket over the weekend and got some wildly inaccurate temperatures. Now i bought this for convenience and cloud connectivity. Also so I could get some naps in while smoking a Brisket overnight.Smoking at 250 acccording to dome of big green egg. Keep in mind the big green egg is a ceramic cooker, literally holds temperatures perfectly. Meatstick was all over the place registering ambient temps from 225-350. Being nervous about the temp alarms, checked my trusty thermoworks, grate was right at 260 holding steady. Still wanting to give this thing a chance I continued on cooking. Alarms kept going off and ambient temps were going from 225-350. No sleep for me.When spritzing, Meatstick readings on brisket temp on flat and point were about 15-20 degrees higher and lower than actual temp according to my thermoworks pen during the cook. For example flat alarm went off for 165 degrees, probed temp because I didn't believe it based on the bark and it was at 144....Later on in the cook after it developed a nice bark, and actually probed 170 with my thermoworks pen, went to wrap and put it away thinking well if it hits 195-200 then it will likely be under temp. Not the case, both meatsick probes registered 195, which I usually start probing for tenderness to pull it. The flat was 208 and same with the point. Thankfully I didn't wait to probe and got it off the egg, the day was saved by thermoworks probe and my eyeballs. If I ran the cook just by meatstick I would have had a $200 Brisket failure.

The efficiency...
It works perfectly once it is installed...and easy to use. Precise temp. reading. It was a bit complicated to have it works. The first two I received did not connect to my phone. But the company sent me two new ones that worked fine. So, I am very satisfied.

MEATSTICK MiniX MEAT THERMOMETER
This product works very well. I love the way the mini thermometer can be inserted into any small or large cut of meat. I've even placed it into a chicken thigh and it worked effectively. The charging unit for the probe also serves as a Wi-Fi extender so that your smart phone can be used some distance (80 feet?) from the probe. Great when your BBQing and hang'n with your friends prior to dinner. The app will alert you when the meat is done. The downloaded app is also very effective and integrates quite well with the meat probe. After two months of use though, I did experience a problem with the meat probe, but reached to Meatstick Customer Service who had me conduct a few trouble shooting steps to identify the source of the problem. Once it was confirmed that the probe itself had become faulty, Meatstick very promptly offered to send me a new probe, which was received in only 3 days (very prompt service). The replacement probe I received is working great so far. I'm sold on this product!
