Super small but super strong & fast
Amazing SSD external HDD. Read & Write on this HDD is super fast. I like the design and feel very solid. It is very small and compact. I am using it with Mac Mini M1 for photo/video editing and it is working perfectly. I recommend this product.

Functional, compact and portable SSD
Disk cloning and stuff exist but I like to start new devices from scratch. I had a load of documents to move from my old PC to another and I could not do it through my USB. I got the 512GB cause my documents amounted to under 400GB and transfer speeds are really impressive. Heck, sometimes I transfer small study documents (up to 1GB) with my brother and used to do it through my Transcend 16GB and with the Sandisk Extreme Portable, it is a breeze. The duration taken for the transfer will depend on the “allocation unit size” and other factors, but what previously took me over two minutes to transfer, 1GB, now takes less than ten seconds. In the box, you get a USB-C to USB-C 16cm cable, so you can natively hook it up to USB-C and Thunderbolt 3 USB-C ports. Most mid-tier laptops and desktop PCs from 2015 onwards have a USB-C port and connecting the portable SSD is straightforward. If your device does not have a USB-C, the box has a USB-C female to USB-A adapter which works well, albeit file transfer speeds are relatively lower owing to the lower file transfer rates on USB A compared to the USB-C interface. Looking for portability and build solidity, it really ticks the boxes and is super compact, I can literally fit it in my pocket without it being visible as its thickness is slightly over an iPhone and it’s length and width extremely small. Feels weightless and retains a rugged touch to it. Yet to test it on the long run, if I encounter any problems, will update the review.

Great product
Very fast SSD and its too small and light weight, only complain is the cable which is too short. Comes with both USB C and USB A connectors and I am getting consistent speed around 500 MP/Sec read write from my surface pro & device.

Extremely fast, very small and portable SSD
As expected, the SSD is incredibly quick. Quality is great, the device has a rubber-like finish which is great to hold. The device is far smaller than I had expected, which is a good thing - since it makes the SSD very portable. I had purchased the 2TB variant and it came in a sealed, original box. All required cables were in the box - a TypeC to TypeC cable & a TypeC to USB3 dongle.

Outstanding quality and perfect design
This product is of the highest quality and with lightning-fast transfer speeds. In comparison to other SSD products this design is perfect for an office worker using a MacBook/laptop and wants to store all documentation, audio, and video media is a safe secure method that can be accessed while not connected online. An excellent method to have as a backup in addition to stored online in a cloud.

Great to store the data
Don't buy this one to store your data for long years there is alternative type for cold storage, but this one is good for travel which can connect to mobile & computer

Great but pricy
Was delivered in time and was exactly as advertised. 2TB of huge storage in a small very light solid state drive (SSD). As mentioned in other reviews, it is a dust magnet and gets warm during use, however none of these are deal breakers. preferred this over WD SSD as the SanDisk is IP55 and can withstand rain and some water splashes. I don't want to loose my data if I am caught in rain, considering that now I am living in Europe region where it can rain a lot. For people in middle east this may not be a consideration. Also the SAN disk one seems to be a bit more resistant to falls/drops. The cable that comes with it is USB C to USB C male to male. Also included is a USB C to normal USB adaptor. Would have been great if there was a USB C to normal USB male to male adaptor (not cable), preferably L shaped, and then I could actually use it like a USB stick

I use this drive as a safe and compact backup to all my movies, music and photos. I have 2 other drives storing my precious files but this one is for travel and goes with me everywhere. It is smaller than it looks in the picture and for that I am pleased. It works well and copies at high speeds, my Mac Air recognized it as soon as it was plugged in and I am impressed with the performance and quality. It is built tough and is solid state so will last and last. I may buy only SSD from now on. My data is safe and this small external hard drive is very reliable and I recommend it. I liked it so much, I bought another for a gift.

This external is absolutely perfect for my needs. I bought the 2TB version and it has become my "everything" drive. I love having all of this space in such a portable form factor! It's actually smaller than I expected it to be and it slips perfectly in my pocket and disappears because it's so lightweight. Of course, don't rely on a drive like this alone as your only backup. I have a 12TB NAS with redundancy that I use to back up this SSD (among other things) and my NAS is automatically backed up via Backblaze, so I have three locations (Backblaze being remote), and I have redundancy on my NAS so if one of those drives fails then I can replace it without losing anything. Unfortunately I cannot harness the full speed of this drive because I'm using a 2014 MacBook Pro which only has USB-3, which is about half the speed of USB-C, furthermore I have this plugged into a powered USB hub. That being said, to my surprise I'm actually getting around 405 MB/s writes and 425 MB/s reads, which is significantly better than I thought I would get, this is a little over 4X faster than real world performance of a standard non-SSD external drive, so it's still plenty zippy for my needs! To test a sustained load I moved over my existing Kontakt library (music production plugins and such). A 160GB transfer took me 8 minutes and 23 seconds, which is perfectly fine, when moving using a standard non-SSD external it takes almost 35 minutes! A more reasonable 3GB transfer takes around 7-8 seconds, doing the same file transfer over to my WD EasyStore (standard HDD) takes about 38 seconds. For fun I tested transferring 3GB to my NAS and it took 1 minute 36 seconds. I expected it to be slow because I don't have the best internal network plus I'm using slow (but reliable) drives and it has to write the data multiple times. The NAS is just for bulk storage. The icing on top is the added durability. This is IP55 rated which means it can withstand dust and splashing, which means it's great for outdoor use for storing photos and such. Furthermore, it's rated to withstand a 2 meter (roughly 6.5 foot) drop. This is a great little drive! My MBP only has a 500GB drive and all of my plugins and samples were eating up hundreds of gigs and I was becoming really tired of constantly having to go through everything and try to maintain space. I wasn't even able to download all of my Kontakt content locally because I simply didn't have enough room, so I had to pick and choose what plugins I wanted to have locally, trying to store everything on the NAS was error-prone because Kontakt didn't like it for some reason but it was also way too slow. This drive is fast enough to where I can work on Logic Pro X projects directly on it without having to create scratch space locally, something I couldn't do with a normal non-SSD external (way too cumbersome). Now instead of having only 10-20GB local storage I’m back up to around 320GB - much better! I can breathe! Just remember - don't rely on any external as your only backup! Try to back up your most important data in three locations, one being a remote location, if possible.
