Better than expected
Well let's start off by saying that I had purchased some higher quality spring compressors and as such I ended up paying more. In my efforts to avoid something cheap I spent more money only to find out the other ones just didn't fit between the spring coils. After going back and coming across these I decided to place my order. They arrived in a white box as apposed to a case but when I went on to use them they performed great. I used them for an early 90s honda accord to replace the front springs. Worth the money and would recommend

Did the job and I didn't die!
These things are super dangerous if you don't know what you are doing.

Did the job
Good enough. Worked well. I don't expect to use it really frequently, I usually get the strut assembly with the spring already installed, just had one strut fail pretty quick and it was cheaper to buy the strut and the tool than another assembly.

Gets the Job Done
I used these compressors to upgrade my car's suspension with Koni inserts and Tein Springs. They worked, but I have reservations about recommending them. On the rear, only three out of four hooks on each unit engaged the springs. On the front, only two engaged. The compressors did not come off, but I was very, very careful. Second, the compressors marred the springs' finish in several places. all the way to metal in some. If you have large springs and don't really care about the finish, these will work. With smaller springs and a good finish, there are better options.

Having the right tools simplifies the job.
So to be up front, these were not designed for my task. I needed to collapse a strut, spring and piston, so that I could reattach the lower control arm. The difficult part was that spacing on the jeep liberty springs are so small. The length of these were able to grip the upper control arms and the bottom of the strut to lift up just enough to get the bolt in. The part held up and screw didn't strip out like the rented one did from the auto parts store did. It is a keeper tool.
