Works as expected
At first I first bought a more expensive and popular brand of cordless. I quickly returned it after trying it out. I like the WORX. It doesn't feed out an inch if line every time you pull the trigger like the more expensive one did. I've done my huge yard twice now and I'm still on the first original spool of line. The battery did go dead at the very end the first time, but now I know how long I have. It's super light and easy to use. Bigger and more powerful ones tear up my aluminum siding, so I like the smaller one. It cuts grass just fine. I love the fact that it came with extra spools of line! I HATE the side button on the handle, but here is a helpful tip: If you don't understand how the side button works, you may think you have to hold it the whole time as I did. It hurts after a while. You do not have to keep pressing the side button once its going!!! I figured this out when I attempted to disable the side button. It simply blocks the main switch until its pressed out of the way. Side button does not have to be held in while you use the weed eater. Maybe obvious to most, but it was not to me. I just did my yard in record time. I even circled the entire house without ever once letting go of the switch. No cords to drag around! It's light and you can move fast.

WORX trimmer edger
I wanted to update about this trimmer, July 2026, over a year later. I am still thrilled with my purchase! It's so easy to take with me for small jobs for friends and, of course, keeping my own property tidy 🌞 The only thing I've noticed is that occasionally the string isn't advancing, it gets stuck on the spool, so I pop out the spool, loosen the string, and put it back together. No big deal and that's the only issue I've had with it! And that doesn't happen often. This was the issue I spoke of in the first review. I wasn't out of string, it was just stuck; a very quick and easy fix! I really appreciate that it's not big and heavy, it's lightweight and easy for me to get into tight places with it. The problem some people might have is the length of it. Because I'm only 5'2", it's a nice length for me. Anyone taller may be bending over a little more..but it is lightweight and can be used left or right handed ****************************************** I just got this, was able to charge the battery to full, made sure it had power before snapping the handle together (suggested by another reviewer) and went out to do some trimming. The weight is light and the size is suitable for me as I'm 5'2". I'm a senior woman and I found this easy to use, it's pretty basic. It's powerful enough to do what I need it to do and it's not too noisy. It's definitely quieter than the gasoline powered ones I've been around! I had some areas that were overgrown that it cut down with no problems. I was in the process of edging when quite suddenly, I was out of line! The battery was still going strong, I had been at it 15-20 minutes when the line ran out. Another reviewer had a tip and that was about the button on the side. You press it and hold the handle to start and then you can let go of the button I was using this trimmer/ edger to knock down where I can't with the mower.. small areas of yard, along fence lines, around trees, next to buildings, and the edging next to a curb that hadn't been done in ages. It was durable enough to get the job done. I'm happy with my purchase so far for what I got done and I've ordered a multi pack of line! 🤠

Light weight weed whacker
Pros: This is a nice light weight yard trimmer. The battery (1) is easy to install and has it's own charger. This is not as powerful as a gas weed whacker, but works great for smaller jobs. I can normally get about 1/2 of the weed whacking done around our 1/2 archer before the battery wears out. This is okay for me as I like to split the work up over 2 days anyways. The noise is fair/bellow average and not nearly as loud as a gas powered one. I love that you can get refills packs pre-wound for the the trimmer and it is super easy to refill that way. The thicker lines do not fit the spool, so watch that. Very easy to change from weed whacker to edger, but not a great edger--not enough power. Cons: The line is thin and can stick together causing it to break. The battery is not compatible/interchangeable with the other chargers you may have. An extra battery would be fantastic and some of the reviews talked about a spare battery, but this one no longer comes with a second battery. It works for what I want/need it for and is light enough for me to do the work. 7.8/10

Light but powerful
Battery life isn't the greatest (since it's 20V) but definitely gets the job done. Lightweight, easy to assemble and use, totally worth it the $60 I paid on Prime Day preview

Great Trimmer!
So far I love this trimmer. I've used it about 7-8 times so far and have no complaints. It's lightweight and easy to handle (I'm a middle aged, 5'3" woman, if that helps anyone). I've mostly used it on trimming and a little edging, but it cut through some overgrown ivy really well too. The battery life is as expected. I find that I need to use a second battery to finish my yard (we have about a 1/2 acre with a sidewalk, driveway, several obstacles and garden beds). I highly suggest buying a second battery, if you don't have one. The nice thing about Worx products is that you can take advantage of the "Power Share" feature. So if you have multiple Worx tools, you can use those batteries with other Worx tools. Changing out the spool is easy too. Just a heads up, make sure to put the line back in the nodules on the top side of the spool after you pull some of it out to thread into the hole. I didn't do this the first time I changed out my spool and I thought the auto-feed failed on me. Nope, it was user error. So if the line isn't feeding, check that. Worx does offer "free spools for life", but you have to pay for shipping which last I looked was about $10. You may find it cheaper to buy the spools on Amazon instead (part number is WA0010). So if you are looking for a lightweight, easy to use trimmer that doesn't necessary break the bank this one may just be the perfect fit.

It does the job, but.......
This was the replacement for a Worx trimmer/edger we have had for years. Pros: 1- It is cost effective. 2- It is very light weight. 3- It will do the job. In my opinion, if you can afford it, it is worth going up in price to the next level of Worx, if nothing else do the extra $10 for the next step up since: Cons: 1- is not adjustable. Our other one, you could adjust the length of the machine so short or tall, less chance of a backache. 2- the handle grip is not adjustable...it is where it is. Our other one, you could adjust the handle which made it much more comfortable to work with again better fit for everyone 3- it doesn't have a great guide for edging and the head does not move. Our other one, the head could be adjusted depending upon the job. 4- there is no wheel to guide you when edging. With the wheel, all you had to do was walk and a perfect edge line was created this one....if you don't walk straight and have a steady hand there is no straight edge. 5- not novice proof. I am not good at trimming and edging but with our old one, it didn't matter. With this machine, it does. I am getting a little better, but it hasn't been pretty these last few weeks after using it and once spring hits after 6 months of winter I think I will be starting over on my quest to properly use this frustrating machine. 6- the battery seems to drain faster on this one than it did on our older model. NO clue why the difference but I used to be able to do the entire area with 3 batteries (it is A LOT of trimming and edging) with this one, I was only 3/4 of the way done with the 3 batteries. If you are of an average height and good at edging and trimming, you may find this very usable and a good tool for the money. It is light weight which is nice. If you are on the short or tall side, be ready for a backache. If you are not good at edging and trimming (I need more practice) this is not inherently beginner proof. I would highly recommend going up a step and if funds are available get the package with the extra batteries. It is so frustrating when you are only halfway done and your battery dies.

Good value
This unit doesn't have wheels for edging which is one drawback to consider, but for the price this model will do the job on trimming and edging perfectly fine without a big investment. The light weight is a big plus and the Worx quality is very good even on this basic model.
