Tuttle Publishing The Ancient Art of Tea: Wisdom From the Old Chinese Tea Masters

Disappointed I the content of this book. I was expecting what the product description told me - tips on improving tea making skill. In this I expected details of traditional tea ceremonies, usable tips on preparation etc, but unfortunately the contents of the book offer nothing more on that than the product description does. It is a compendium of quotes from ancient chinese tea poets and expertssaying you need the right utensils and water from this mountain spring, tea should be drunk surrounded by beautiful scenery and with good company.That being said it was quite an enjoyable read and a nice looking coffee (or tea) table book. It's often interesting to read how ancient tea lovers viewed the subject and examples of it's reference in poetry, but don't expect to learn anything about tea or it's ideal preparation. Now on the hunt for another book that does do that.

The book is well written, the topics are relevant for any tea enthusiast and the way the author explain one topic through the ages (or Dynasty) is interesting in showing the evolution of the methods for steeping the best cup of tea.

Such a gem of a book!
