The adhesive on the brackets works as intended on samsung S90F
Ive used the Philips hue light strips for 3 months and overall pleased with how its been so far. Ive been a part of the philips hue ecosystem for going on 6 years now and have grown to trust the brand especially after owning play bars and several lights that all still work flawlessly to this day. I just got a samsung S90F 65 inch and bought the 65 inch strip to accompany it. A big plus is that samsung tvs have the philips hue app that syncs without needing the HDMI sync box. The lights sync directly to every single source you have connected to the tv as well as apps. But even without the sync it still livens up the room as ill explain in a bit. The light's adhesive on the brackets has held strong and they have not fallen. The way I installed it was following the advice on the 3M website that makes the adhesive and it recommended to wait at least 72 hours after applying the brackets so that the adhesive has time to cure. However, I personally only waited a day and a half and its been on ever since without falling. I do have to mention the back of the tv I installed it on is flat without any bumps that protrude out so maybe that helps it quite a bit. I can control the lights from the hue app on my phone and I activate the syncing through the app on the tv. The syncing of the lights are really amazing and adds a lot of immersion when watching a movie or game you're playing (video games get a big bump in making you feel surrounded by the environment). However, I dont use it for TV shows as i found it to be distracting on slow moving scenes. I like to set the lights up for ambiance all the time so im constantly have them on when I watch anything on TV and it really does add to the comfort in the room. You can choose from tons of different color combinations as well as program them to turn on and off at certain times. After 3 months the initial excitement for the sync feature has waned a tad as the lights have become such a big part of my everyday routine, but I still do very much enjoy the ambiance nonsync mode provides as well as using the sync feature when im in the mood for a big immersive movie night or a marathon of gaming (the sync also has a music mode but I unfortunately cant have raves in my smaller apartment ... *sigh* but i have used them with headphones and they sync great!) I think you'll enjoy this strip and even without using the sync feature it really does add to the living space and brightens up the room

What you probably don’t know…
It does what you expect. On top of the Gradient Lightstrip for my TV, I also bought the play bars. You can isolate each light into individual colors. If you’re not new to the LED scene, then know you should be familiar with setting scenes with the app. When everything arrived, I immediately started setting up. The first problem I had was connecting the bridge to the internet. The first two lights came on but not the third. Without being connected to the internet, I can’t access the bridge with the app or move on with the rest of the installation. The solution to that, was that I plugged the network cable it came with from the bridge to the splitter I have. Come to find out, the bridge doesn’t work with splitters. Technically, the protocol doesn’t allow for it. You have to directly connect it to the router. I have a 70 inch Samsung Smart TV. I bought the 65” light strip. After setting up all the lights, the bridge, and the sync box, I was excited to play something colorful like Avatar or Spiderman(across the spiderverse). So, having smart tv and all I had to do was press the Netflix button on my remote and it brings me to the TV app(There’s a reason I say that) BUT, starting a movie, the lights just dimmed to the lowest white light and they were not synced to what was being shown on screen. The app kept showing me that nothing was connected to the sync box. I of course didn’t understand if I connect my tv to the box. After hours of research, I’ve done everything I could from getting different HDMI cables, to switching ends, to factory resetting the sync box, to seeing if my tv needed to be updated. I was afraid I bought a defective sync box. My last last thing to try was to call customer support. Surprisingly, after dialing the number, less than 5 minutes, I was on the phone with someone, which is impressive. Come to find out… to have lights sync, you can’t use it with TV Applications. You have to have a second source such as a PlayStation, Xbox, Firestick and so on. After learning that, I connected my PlayStation to the sync box, went to a YouTube video and it worked. So if you’re having this same issue, hopefully I was able to help someone out. Looking it up, I wasn’t the only one stumped with this same problem. All in all, after I got it to work, it’s amazing! The lights on top of a surround sound system, you don’t have to go to the movies anymore. You have an enhanced theater right in front of you. If you’re not watching TV, you can still work the lights with the app and either set a scene or choose whatever color(s) you prefer. It’s expensive for no reason. But you get what you pay for and that’s quality. You won’t be disappointed. P.S. The Bridge, Sync Box, and the Lights all use a big box plug. The blocky ones. So I had to utilize another power strip to get everything plugged in and working on top of everything I already had plugged.

Beautiful TV Upgrade That Looks Amazing Day & Night
We’ve been using the Philips Hue Play Gradient Lightstrip with our 75-inch TV for quite a while now, and it’s easily one of my favorite additions to our entertainment setup. The installation itself is pretty easy. The colors spread beautifully across the wall behind the TV and make the whole room feel more immersive. What I love most is how different the lighting looks throughout the day. During the daytime it gives a softer ambient glow, in the evening the colors become much more noticeable, and at night they look incredibly vibrant and completely change the atmosphere of the room. We especially loved using it around Christmas because it made our living room feel so cozy with all of the holiday lights. I also love being able to change the colors and create different moods depending on what we're watching or how we want the room to feel. After using it long-term, I’m still really happy with it.

Exorbitant cost for a mediocre product that fails on a couple key fronts.
Though the quality is demonstrably improved from the original Hue lightstrip (particularly for bias lighting) the price point is absurdly high for a strip that barely covers 3 sides of the associated television size. Mounting the LED strip took longer than I expected because the centerline arrow indicator (once located) seemed to be off-center. Once mounted I was fairly impressed with the brightness, however while the strip worked fine in the regular Hue app I could not get the sync box to pair with the (frustratingly) separate Hue Sync app for weeks, despite power cycling my phone, router, Hue hub and the sync box (while writing this review I tried one last time and magically worked seamlessly - firmware/app update?) Subsequently I was unable to change any of the sync settings like brightness (which was unfortunately stuck at 25%) or mode. After about 4 weeks the majority of the pre-attached adhesives separated from the anchors dropping the lights back behind the TV and leaving the large adhesive pads glued to the back of my nice OLED TV. One more potentially important note I would add is the Hue lightstrip attached previously would pick up on the center-mass color from the feed, but the new LED strip matches the border colors. In hindsight this seems obvious to me, but already having Hue Go lamps covering the right and left flanks in Hue Sync leaves the strip feeling somewhat redundant. I've heard (but not validated) that changing the lightstrip mode to "Game" may change the focus to the center. However since I was unable to access the Hue Sync options before the lightstrip came crashing down I was never able to find out and also seems like it would be a waste of the lightstrip's variable color functionality which is obviously a key feature. In summary, the purpose-built lightstrip equipment design is far superior to the original lightstrip for bias lighting. However for the price point there still exist some serious gaps that leave me gritting my teeth as a consumer.

Doesn’t really fit a 65 inch TV but still awesome
I give this product 2 stars and 5 stars. Averaged out to 3.5 rounded up to 4. Here is why. First off, these light strips are expensive and only cover the 2 sides and the top, but once you get them, you’ll understand why. The light strip is massive and very bright. Add some floor lamps and your room will be very well lit. The mounting hardware is amazing and holds it very securely. As with all Hue products, it’s easy to set up and the sync to the tv is amazing. Far better than the Govee and Wiz connect products I tested. The overall lighting and accuracy of sync is easily 5 stars. Here is the 2 star part. I have a 65 inch tv and got the 65 inch strip. The instructions tell you to place the white arrow in the center of your TV about 2 inches from the edge. Sounds easy right? First off, the white arrow is 1/2 an inch off of center and it messes with the sync and how close to the edge each end sits. Also, at 2 inches from the edge, the ends sit over 5 inches from the bottom of the TV leaving a massive light gap, especially if you’ve wall mounted your set, so is the 65 inch meant for a 65 inch TV or is it 65 inches or??? Well the listing doesn’t really say, so I got the 75 inch to test. There is no way to get a 75 inch strip to fit on a 65 inch TV set. It hangs over the edge by over an inch even all the way around the outer edge. I measured the 65 inch strip and it’s over 100 inches and the 75 inch one is over 115. So I have no clue what measurements they are using. But the 65 inch is too small and the 75 inch is too big for my 65 inch TV. I made it work, but for this price point, it should be way easier!

Surprisingly accurate
The Hue Sync experience is truly fun. I can't speak to the HDMI box because I use a PC, but I have a 77 inch LG G1 and I was pleasantly surprised at how accurate the light representation is. I've ran a large number of light show programs to test where and when the colors change and it is pretty spot on accurately changing colors exactly as it does on screen in the exact same spot. I was worried because it only has 7 light zones (2 on each side and 3 on top) but I've almost never noticed it not changing perfectly in sync with what is displayed. The very few times it has been off have been with a grueling spinning color wheel test image or other purposefully demanding content. Even then it is only by a little and you have to be looking for it, in normal use you will never see it miss even when looking for it. My TV is wall mounted and I didn't even have to take it off the mount. My only issue is it doesn't cover the bottom of the screen and Philips doesn't offer any solutions to cover that area that are as competent as the strip. I even purchased the Gradient Ambient Light Strip thinking it would do the job since it is basically the exact same product only without a preinstalled diffuser, but that turned out to be the only disappointing Hue product I have purchased. The Gradient Ambient light strip just doesn't work well with sync at all. It has 3 zones and depending on how you have it set up (where it is located in your room) it can display the wrong side of the screen or even have one zone that doesn't even work at all (either just a white light or it's off). Considering that one strip cost me 200 dollars I was pretty miffed about this and their customer support is very lacking. After days of talking to customer support on Facebook of all the hated places (I can't call as they are closed when I am home and they literally don't have an email address) they finally got back to me with a simple "we are aware of the problem". The Hue Play Bars work surprisingly well but it can be a pain to place their location in the app to get them to display colors properly. But this review is about the Gradient Lightstrip not the company, and that as a stand alone product works very, very well. So if you can live with no lights on the bottom, fighting to get a workaround solution you can live with considering it will never be as good as the rest of the screen, or it isn't an issue for you at all it is a must buy. As far as brightness goes it is plenty bright in my opinion, usable even in daylight as long as you close the blinds (I have normal wooden slat blinds not blackout blinds by any means) and the light shines across my entire wall and up into the ceiling or to the side and off the side wall. In fact yow will probably want to turn it down quite a bit as the light can be so bright it's distracting from the actual content. The music sync feature needs work though. It could benefit from some options as it seems pretty random what part of the music it reacts to, and with multiple lights it's hard to tell what part of the music any given light is reacting to.

Love it
Worked really well with the Phillip Hue App. Needed to get a few Phillip hue plugs to help with the connection, but once set up works great.

Excelente iluminación ambiental, aunque no perfecta.

Excellent product with lots of choice
The product came well packaged and the stick-on supports for attaching the strip to the TV work very well supporting it as required around the back of the TV and is easily connected and the bridge detects the available connections. Simple to use and when you set up the selection App we did it on an iPad and phone and both worked very well giving a wide variety of combined colors and effects. for what we needed it offers both bright back ground light during the day around the TV or dim light when watching later in the evening to enjoy your favorite show or film. We have not set up all the variations or linked it to react to the show so just getting used to having a nice controllable light surrounding the TV to give a relaxing evening or day time film. Would highly recommend

Instant upgrade — immersive lighting that really works!
The Philips Hue 55" Smart TV Light Strip has totally transformed the way I watch movies and play games. Setup was super easy — it just stuck right onto the back of my TV, paired smoothly with my Hue Bridge, and I was up and running in minutes. What I love most is how the lighting reacts to what’s on screen. Whether it’s a dark movie scene or a bright action sequence, the colors shift beautifully and add a whole new level of immersion that my TV just didn’t have before. It’s not just pretty — it actually enhances the viewing experience. The app control is intuitive, and I can easily adjust colors, brightness, and even set routines for different moods. Integration with my smart home means I can turn it on or off with voice commands too, which is really handy. If you want your TV to feel more cinematic without any hassle, this light strip is absolutely worth it. Great quality, great effect — highly recommended!
